- Offer limited to 3,000 extra points per account.
- Offer is non-transferable.
- These additional bonus points are calculated off of Base Point earning only and are not calculated off of any other Bonus Points that you may be earning through your rewards program.
- In order to qualify for this offer you must make net purchases of any amount with your BBVA Visa Credit Card from August 1 – 31, 2020 on Health and Wellness purchases.

Heath and self-care= “categories that include drug stores & pharmacies, health & beauty shops, doctors, dentists, opticians, and laboratory services” Not sure these are “targeted” get one pretty much every month. Email does say “for select accounts”, but I read it as marketing language. Of note “purchases of prepaid or reloadable cards such as certain gift cards” are on the exclusion list. Doubt they enforce it though. Casino chips and money orders are also excluded. “This promotion adds 4 extra reward points on top of any existing Build Your Own Rewards category…Offer limited to 3,000 extra points per account.” So max spend is 3000/4= $750(base earn is 1x). If you choose drug stores as your 2x or 3x category you earn 6% or 7% on the $750 spend. 🙂
Well, it is ‘targeted’ because you have to click a link in the email to activate it. But yeah, they’ve been doing it pretty much each month, for different categories – thru 7/31 was gas, June was groceries. I have both Clear Point and Rewards cards. The Rewards card is a vanilla 1.5% card, but with a “direct deposit” of $1k per calendar month it becomes a 2% on everything card. A $1,050 ACH from my Marcus savings monthly works for the DD giving me the 2%, and I move the $1,050 back out in a few days.
This is excellent. Glad DoC alerted me to the Select $500 SUB earlier this year and recent checking/savings bonuses. BBVA is definitely stepping it up this year.
Agreed. I also jumped on the BBVA Select credit card and the Checking + Savings offer. Total of $950+ cash in Year 1 is very strong. Glad to see you also got in on it!
I think it may take $750 to max out this promotion. It says a max of 3000 extra points, not total points.
