[Targeted] Capital One Savor – Earn 4% Cash Back

Update 10/10/19: So it looks like only 1.5% back is posting, regardless of what offer you received. When contacted Capital One has told cardholders that the additional 2.5% will post within 1 to 2 statement cycles.

The Offer

No direct link to offer, sent out via e-mail. Unsure what the subject line is

  • Capital One is offering some Savor cardholders 4% cash back on all purchases

The Fine Print

  • Valid until December 31st, 2019
  • Unsure if there is a cap

Our Verdict

Potentially a very good deal depending on if there is a cap and what that cap is.

Only got 1.5% with no limits.

1.5% on one card, nothing on the other one

Like Ken and Miki, I got the 1.5% offer. I opened my Savor in January of this year, with the $500 bonus and the AF waived.

I spend between $40 and $120 per month on my Savor, and only on restaurants. I never carry a balance on any card and my total CC utilization (across all cards) is almost always < 1%.

Be interesting to hear whether some other pattern of spending or use triggers the 4% offer.

We were targeted for this 4% deal… going to take much advantage!

I wonder if they target differently between grandfathered Savors and new Savors. I.e. no annual fee vs annual fee.

We have P1 and P2 cards. 9nenis grandfathered and one is not. Neither were targeted.

Your Savor card will earn you 3% on travel purchases from October 4, 2019 through December 31, 2019. Looks like a variety of offers being sent out.

If Captial One add the ability to pool earnings from Savor cards with Venture/Spark Miles cards, they’d actually have a very solid position against Chase and Citi.

Amongst the poor credit score crowd. Chase and Citi would be shaking in their boots…

Ultimate Arsehole

My credit score is pretty decent and I hold Capital One’s Venture card.

you can, well at least you can redeem Savor cash back to Venture Miles at 1:1 as long as you have both cards, I’ve did it

The subject line for my email was, “[Name], enjoy 4% cash back on everything with Savor” and the email and fine print say it’s unlimited 10/4-12/31.

Was targeted on my Savor w/AF. Wonder if this has something to do with the survey I completed recently from CapOne. Got a $10 AZ gc for completing it too.

I was targeted, however, not all my purchases (ie. VGC counted as 1.5%) have been accounted as 4% cash back. Is anyone else facing this?

I am seeing 4% posting on all purchases so far, not 1.5% as mentioned in your updated post.

I got targeted in Savor with fee.

3% on travel.

After that, you’ll earn the rewards you’re used to: 4% cash back on dining and entertainment, 2% at grocery stores, and 1% on all other purchases—just like you always have.*

I hope this doesn’t mean I don’t got 4% in dining and 2% grocery?

The fine print says it will get credited in 2 billing cycles.
Has anyone received any retention offer for capital one savor? My anniversary is coming on January ,so I can’t cancel till the extra points post, looking for guidance.

It took few minutes on one call to get the annual fees waived off for me. They were pretty cool about it.

Great, thanks for the info!

My annual fee is gonna hit soon. My guess is that they use 4% to keep us. I usually get it waived for my venture card. Hope they would do the same for my Savor. I really like it so far.

I am curious, for those with the immediate postings: does your AF hit beyond the 2 billing periods after the promo is over?

I was NOT targeted for a special offer, but I’m getting 1.5% on non-bonus spend anyway.
