[Expired] [Targeted] Citi: Spend $60 On Amazon, Get $20 Back

Deal has expired, view more Citi deals by clicking here.

[Update: Readers note there are actually various offers being sent out by Citi: $20 off $60, $25 off $75, or 10% off up to $20.]

The Offer

<name>, earn $20 back when you shop with Citi at Amazon.com after qualifying purchases

  • Citi is offering some cardholders a $20 statement credit when they spend $60 or more on Amazon

The Fine Print

  • You will receive a one‑time $20 statement credit after you spend at least $60 at Amazon.com with your Citi credit card.
  • Your purchases must post to your account between 05/22/2019 and 07/31/2019.
  • Delays by the merchant, such as shipping, could extend the date that your purchases post beyond the promotional period.
  • The statement credit will be applied to your account within 2 billing cycles after the eligible purchases are posted

Our Verdict

Great deal if you’re targeted, unfortunately I suspect most readers won’t be. As always for a full list of Amazon deals click here.

I got the $25 off 75 offer on my prestige. Funny thing is, i completely overlooked the email and it just so happened that i made a 80 dollar purchase on amazon and since my gift card balance was zero, i ended up using the citi prestige card for the purchase. I saw a $25 “Merchant Spend Bonus” on my statement and only then realized that it was this offer. That was a total lucky surprise (usually these things never happen to me)

I got the $20 off $60 on my Citi ThankYou Premier I wanna use it but. I also want to product change it to a Costco Anywhere Visa since the 1 year anniversary is coming up. I wonder if I use it and then product change will I still get the credit on the Costco in 2 billing cycles?

This is in the fine print so I would say probably not:
“In order to qualify for this offer, the account must be open and current at all times. If your account is closed for any reason, including if you convert to another card product, you may no longer be eligible for this offer. This promotional offer is non‑transferrable and applies to the account ending in the last 4 digits referenced in this offer. “

Got $20 off $60 on my Dividend card. I’m sure this will work with 3rd party gift cards but I wonder if I can simply buy Amazon eGC to trigger this. Any experience?

I have just done a gift card balance reload on a Prestige (10% back up to $20) – will update once/if I receive it.

Do the items have to be ship and sold by Amazon?
Just spend $60 with the citi card, do they care what you buy?

Will gift card purchase trigger the statement credit?

I don’t see any exclusions in the email, so I think gift cards will work fine. I’m probably going to try that later today.

Got the email out of the blue Amazon offer $20 off $60 for my Citi Dividend Rewards card – only card I have at Citi No Signup.

I am doing the current quarter.5% Drug Stores buying Flood Victim donations mixed with Vanilla $500 GCs.

I am thinking best to set it as the Amazon primary payment card.

Was able to edit the order changing payment from default CC to Citi Dividend Rewards card without changing default CC. Bought $75.00 of third party GCs.
