- IHG is offering some members the choice between two promotions:
- Fast track to elite status: Stay twice and earn Gold Elite status, stay five times and earn Platinum elite status plus 2,000 points per Kimpton stay
- Earn triple points on all stays up to 35,000 points plus 2,000 points per Kimpton stay
The Fine Print
- The offer is valid for stays May 15, 2018 – August 15, 2018 (“Offer Period”) which are booked through ihg.com or Eligible Company booking tool
- Only employees of selected companies are eligible for this offer. Please check with your travel program if you are unsure
Our Verdict
Don’t forget to stack this with the accelerate offer. I’d personally choose the points offer, IHG elite status isn’t that useful and you get Platinum from the Premier card anyway.

Not sure I want to press my luck even more with IHG after signing up for the ANA promo especially with the terms stating “Offer points will be awarded into each member’s IHG Rewards Club account within six weeks of completed stays and following Eligible Company employee verification.”
yea. exactly. the ANA terms are actually more deliberate and notes “As a selected, eligible IHG Rewards Club member, you qualify for an upgrade to ANA Mileage Club (AMC) Platinum status.” but everyone just signed up. so u wanna try to avoid doubling down with this one.
however, my guess tells me that the ANA promo may not have such terrible consequences vs this one because the fallout is all on ANA. IHG doesnt lose unless there are undisclosed payments and kickbacks which we will never know about. but this one is strictly IHG promo only. i would say this one could be more dangerous. YMMV tho. its just my guess.
doc. are you sure its targeted? the reason is because it looks like you can also join brand new. how can that be if its “targeted” unless u have to use a specific link or email. hmm.
but i do see the TCs say “Offer points will be awarded into each member’s IHG Rewards Club account within six weeks of completed stays and following Eligible Company employee verification.” so what will their verification be? i dont even see a list of “Eligible Companies”.

the only status that matters with IHG are IC Royals or Kimpton IC. everything else, you are treated like a peasant.
