Avoiding Fees

TD Convenience Checking $15 Monthly Fee

This is waived if you have a minimum daily balance of $100.

TD Premier Checking $25 Monthly Fee

This is waived if you have a minimum daily balance of $2,500.

TD Beyond Savings $15 Monthly Fee

This account has a $15 monthly fee, this is waived if you have a $20,000 minimum daily balance.

TD Simple Savings $5 Monthly Fee

This account has no monthly fee for the first year if you have one $25 recurring transfer per statement cycle from your linked TD Bank checking account and after that period a $5 fee is charged if a monthly minimum of $300 or less.

Early Account Termination Fee

In their online fee schedule, there is no mention of an early account termination fee. The fine print does say the accounts need to be kept open for 6 months or the bonus is forfeit though.

Our Verdict

Previously this was targeted, now it’s available in selected states. In fact you can do this bonus even if you’ve done a TD Bank bonus before (new terms added mean this is no longer possible). Savings bonus should be worth doing as you only need $10,000 in the account for 90 days and no monthly fee to worry about in the first year. That works out to be an effective interest rate of 8%+. The checking bonus is also worth doing.

I’d recommend doing this ASAP as it’s the best bonus we’ve seen from TD Bank and it also seems like they are letting people do it again. We’ve never seen that before either so I’d be worried they will pull this bonus early. We will add this to our list of the best bank account bonuses.

  • Opened TD Beyond Checking and TD Simple Savings on 4/13.
Only the $200 savings bonus posted on 8/8.

  • DP - the TD Bank website says $200 bonus for TD Complete Checking account (same $500 dd in 60 days as the TD Convenience, but $50 more)
I'm in PA if that affects who can see that offer

  • Opening un
branch Possible to combine refferal bonus 50$ from another TD account and DD bonus (need to bring physical coupon to the
    branch) . Got paid both

  • it also seems like they are letting people do it again

Can you please explain this a bit more?
Does it mean that it can be churned now?

  • 6/13 opened account in branch (wasn't able to open online)
    6/25 deposited $2500 using Fidelity
    7/25 $300 bonus

  • DP

5/18: Opened TD Complete Checking with $200 promo code
    6/27: $501 Ally push
    7/09: $501 Ally push
    7/26: $200 bonus

    • For DP, I was hit with a $25 monthly maintenance fee for my third monthly statement on 8/1/25 because I didn't deposit the required $5000 monthly. There appeared to be a grace period for me because I did not have a fee for the first two months.

  • Anyone else unable to make external transfers into TD beyond checking? I opened the account and tried to fund it via EFT. Both of my attempts were blocked from Ally and Fidelity. Contacted TD through secure messaging and their response was I need to visit a local branch.

    • Yeah I had the same issue. My account was opened online and was working fine the first day, but then my accounts were suddenly suspended because they couldn't verify me. I was blocked on Ally for making transfers to TD because the trial deposits were rejected. After lots of chats with Ally, they were able to manually remove the hold a few weeks later.

It has now been two months since I first opened the account, and I have yet to receive a bonus. Hoping I can get the bonus sooner than 180 days from account opening.

  • Made qualifying deposit over a month ago, and they are saying the account has to be open for 180 days to be “evaluated for the bonus”, but I’m confused how others were able to get it in 2 weeks to a month after deposit. Anyone else have this issue?

      • Yeah seems like its 6 months that you have to wait now, which I think is too long for me. Reached out and they said reach out again if it doesn't post by 11/01. lol
