- Landmark Credit Union is offering a bonus of $200 when you open a new checking account when the following requirements are met:
- Use provided promo code (guess this means it’s targeted)
- Set up eStatements
- Receive a recurring monthly direct deposit of $250+
The Fine Print
- To receive the $200 cash bonus, use provided promo code within online application or at a Landmark branch location and open any new Landmark Checking Account (“New Account”) with e-statements (valid email address required) and recurring monthly direct deposit. Direct deposit is defined as a minimum of $250 per month in ACH deposits, which may include payroll, pension or government benefit payments, such as Social Security.
- Landmark will review your New Account 60 days after opening and deposit the $200 cash bonus within 45 days of the review if the direct deposit and e-statement requirements have been met.
- Accounts closed within the first 6 months will be charged a $200 penalty.
- Bonus will be reported as interest on a 1099-INT.
- Not valid with any other offers. Landmark Associates are not eligible.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Our Verdict
Shame that it looks like this needs a targeted code. Looks like you can also open in branch, so that might be a possible way to get around this. We don’t know if it’s a hard or soft pull either. Landmark also has an account that earns 7.5% APY on balances up to $500.
