I have decided to give up on TCB at least for Walmart. I have had repeated problems that varied between not tracking (less often) or tracked but then declined (more often). In the past, my missing cashback claims would result in getting the correct cashback — might take a while (there was one transaction from July 2019 that was resolved in November 2020), but I used to be able to count on customer service.

Most recently, a transaction came back with “final decision” as “another marketing channel”, even though I only went through TCB. I was willing to let it go, and suggested TCB to look into the Walmart situation given my experience.

TCB responded: “We’ve had more than 3 million transactions processed with Walmart and they have a 99.99% satisfaction rating amongst our members, so we have no concerns here.”

Well, the problem must be with me. After the last two years, I have more and more decided that life is short, and it’s not worth trying to “optimized” everything.

Life is short and it’s important with “sales” to have qualification criteria. I am still trying to figure out what mine are. But, I really don’t like (1) providing a permanent email address and phone number to companies; (2) creating new login accounts. I feel that these can create future baggage.

I will be buying some Halloween and fall theme kitchen towels for in-store pickup.

Follow the 14 steps and still get screwed by these bastards. It’s only $2.50. There’s a 50% chance on this one. It’s the big payouts they are 0% on.

How do use the Slide app for this to track? Do you launch the TCB app and then hit Slide or go to Slide from within TCB in a mobile browser app? Otherwise, what do you use to get to it because I was having trouble having it track when using Slide.

I use the app. It’s tracked on both IOS and android for me. If you use the app, it will open a web page that redirects to the app. Then if you make the purchase and it usually tracks three to five hours later. Also, if you do the load for 1% I usually do this before going through TopCashback.

It’s funny that the TCB app says “app purchases not eligible”, but yup, the Slide app works for me.

Nice! I was one of many not getting purchases tracked on TCB often. Since I started using Chrome
+ 1.1.1.1 DNS app on iPad, the issue has mostly gone away. Out of 17 purchases I made via TCB this year, I only had to submit 2 support tickets, with one of them been a hotel booking transaction which I rarely do via TCB and always have trouble with…

I think the key to success is to allow max possibly of tracking when you make the purchase, that could include:
– Not using browsers like Brave(or even Safari and Firefox?) as it has ad/cookie blocker and many other privacy features build-in.
– Avoiding having any browser privacy features turned on: e.g. block 3rd party cookies.
– Turning off ad-blocking browser extensions, if possible, all of extensions you have. Sometime malicious extensions might highjack the links you are visiting and getting commission out of your purchase.
– Notice your network might be blocking ads at DNS level, using 1.1.1.1 app while making the purchase might help as well, though a lot of times the potential multiple redirects from cashback website would simply not work due to DNS blocking

I personally value my privacy while browsing but also want to use cashback website, so I have a separate browser (or browser profiles https://www.chromium.org/developers/creating-and-using-profiles) just for shopping and use non ad-blocking DNS while making the purchase.
