Our Verdict

The offer is officially targeted, but I think – in practice – these are usually available to everyone. Just don’t forget to activate first.

William Charles, I know many times people have asked you to make it so links open in a new tab (the way I much prefer) and you’ve said you don’t want to do it because many people complain.

I don’t understand the opposing argument. Can someone explain it to me?

Anyway, is there a way for you to make a poll on this (and possibly other topics) to get a better consensus?

Was the poll on Twitter? If so, I meant a poll on DoC. I’m sure many people (including me) rarely, if ever, use Twitter.

I know about opening a tab that way but sometimes I forget to do that and it’s a hassle to go back to the DoC site. Do you know why so many are against it? I legitimately am curious.

When we did the poll it wasn’t even close can’t remember if it was on Twitter or not. I also hate when sites open a new tab with every click, I don’t think any sites really do that as standard and that’s why people hate it. It’s really not difficult to right click, there is probably even a chrome plugin that you could set up to automatically do it

On Windows, holding “Control” while you click will also open the link in a new tab. My guess is similar function on Mac (“Command”??) to do same.

On Windows, you can press your scroll wheel button (press down on your scroll wheel until it clicks) and it will open the link in a new tab.

I just middle-click to open in a new tab (if your mouse has a scroll wheel, you should be able to configure clicking it to behave as a middle button).

A problem with opening in a new tab by default is that there then might not be a way to open in the same tab. And when sites use javascript to change what links do, it often breaks other things (e.g., middle-clicking might no longer work, right-clicking and saving the link might not give a working link).

I still have several orders all of which have at least 4 weeks past estimated payable day and the cash back for them are still at either confirmed or pending states. Is this normal?

Yu I am in the same boat. This may be a function of the economy. Companies may be holding on to cash and not paying TCB. And some may be going bankrupt. I have a large confirmed cash back amount from Neiman Marcus that I think I am unlikely ever to receive.

I had a Best Buy order from Black Friday still not payable in May. I contacted TCB a couple of weeks ago and they said BB is being super slow. TCB ended up crediting me the amount in advance.

I had the same issues with Raise – amazing

We’ve been made aware of the cash back that was declined and have responded to those who reached out via email expressing confusion. This was declined again by the retailer and not by TopCashback. I was made aware that Raise completes validation checks at the beginning of each month, where they check whether members are eligible for cashback (cancelled order, non commissionable items, etc.) If the network feels that you’re ineligible, they will decline/cancel the transaction. These payments were pushed to payable prior to the transaction being validated by Raise. We are actively working with the network to get to the bottom of it. Again, it should be noted that this is not an error on TopCashback’s end, and we will always do what we can for our members.
