Our Verdict

$3 isn’t a lot, but hitting the $10 spending requirement on something you want/need shouldn’t be difficult either. Topcashback usually has the highest or one of the highest rates, but as always please make sure you use a site like cashbackmonitor to compare portals.

I bought Planters mixed nuts yesterday from Jet and the $3 bonus from TCB has already posted for me as payable today. I’ve had good experiences with TCB, they eventually posted my missing CBs in the past and paid it.

TopCashBack is honestly the worst cashback site out there.

I have lost track of the number of times where I made a purchase through the site but never received payment. Only a few web sites seem to work.. Raise.om, Booking.com, Agoda.. So many others were never paid to me.

Also, the cashback takes FOREVER to show up in your account. :/ Very little can be done to dispute.

Topcashback may have better rates but it takes so long for cashback to become available for payout, it doesn’t track properly, and doesn’t allow missing claims for certain merchants (yes I’m talking about Amazon), plus there are so many restrictions, like no cashback for using codes not posted there – they are slow to add codes – and no cashback for using a store gift card to pay, etc. I’ve gone back to Ebates since then.

RE:” no cashback for using a store gift card to pay, ”

I thought this was true only for certain stores. I’ve receiced tcb w newegg gcs for sure & I think walmart. Has anyone else for walmart.com?

from topcashback walmart Online Purchases
“Cash Back not applied on Groceries.”

so would I not get the $3 bonus either for online purchase of say spaghetti noodles?
I’d be buying thru the food dept online & ship to home (not store pickup), not thru walmart’s special “Shop Grocery” which is not avail in my zip code
any opinions & experience appreciated

Ship to home of food items worked for me. TCB tracked and already have the 3 bucks pending.

did you pay with credit card or gift card?

also, tcb does not pay cashback for sears or kmart if you pay with points ,correct? but if I paid for a min $10 order at sears of kmart and paid with points, would I get this $3 bonus?

I’d very much like to know for future offers, thx

In my only transaction with TopCashback, they failed to pay the promised 20% off at HP.com. They offered very little detail and no evidence as to why my claim was denied. What good is offering the best cash-back rate if they don’t pay? I’ve used many cash and miles portals and have never had this problem.

I’ve filed complaints with them through the BBB and Cash Back Monitor and am still waiting for resolution. If others have had the same experience, I’d urge this site to post a warning when referencing them. I feel they not only cheated me out of $300, but prevented me from getting at least $100 from other shopping portals (which also lost out on my business).

Hi William,
Yes, I filed a missing cash back forn and they closed it, saying their affiliate claimed another code had been used. (I linked directly with no other codes used.)
With my BBB claims, they are having me submit more info (sales receipt), but it seems like a facade to act responsible while they will still ultimately deny my claims.
The problem is that because Top Cashback works with unnamed affiliates (not the end seller), they can blame their affiliates and not pay out, with no real recourse (or transparancy) for the customer.
As others have mentioned, their time frame for verifying cash back is much longer than competitors and unacceptable long, in that by the time they deny a claim, it is far too late to return an item or purchase through another site.
Maybe my experience is unusual, but I’ve seen other people post similar complaints. That’s why I suggested your readers share their experiences (good and bad) and you can make a judgement as to whether they should be considered reliable.

I have six accounts and they closed all of them a few months ago and refused to re-open any one of them. Only one I use occasionally for regular organic purchases.

Can I just buy a $10 Amazon gift card after clicking through the Amazon link on TopCashBack to get the $3 bonus to save time?

No the $10 minimum must be for a transaction eligible to earn base cashback. Amazon only earns on specific rotating categories and gift cards are not included.

You could buy an Amazon gift card on Raise, but you would need to spend at least $20 to trigger the base cash back. (Keep in mind that the amount spent has to be over $20, not the face value of the card.)

Is it just me or does TopCashBack take forever to post anything? I signed up back in early August using DoC’s link for the $20 bonus and made my first purchase that same day. I’ve since purchased about 5 times through them and none of them (including the one that was made in early August) are even in the “confirmed” stage. EBates posts almost the next day or at the latest within a week and the AA and United portals are usually within 2 weeks.

The fastest posts I’ve gotten were for Ebay purchases, usually within a day or two. All my other purchases I’ve had to file missing claims for and have waited for one purchase to post since May.

Topcashback shows pending within 24 hours 98% of the time for me. Otherwise it’s within 1 week. If you don’t have pending cashback by then you need to submit missing cashback claim and investigate why it didn’t track. you might have an ad blocker or rogue browser extension blocking tracking. I use Firefox and disable adblock before clicking through cashback portal. Then I search for item and add to my cart. Make sure your cart is empty before starting cashback trip.

My first four transactions were with AT&T Wireless in May and June. None of them posted automatically, so I had to submit claims. Last I heard the cashback might be available by the end of this month. I have had cashback with Walmart, Newegg, Fossil, Gap, and Belk post automatically – but for my > $300 Walmart transaction, it the casback took about 15 weeks to be payable.

Yes, but they haven’t moved to confirmed and are not payable. It’s been over 2 months now so I’m a little concerned.
