The Offer

- Receive up to a $200 sign up bonus with PECU. Requirements are as follows:
- Open any PECU checking account and make ONE deposit of $50 or more within 60 days of account opening.
- Complete FIVE signature-based debit card transactions of at least $10 each within 60 days of account opening.
The Fine Print
- ECU membership required (must be at least 18 years old)
- Must register for PECU online banking Visit PECU website – www.pecutx.org and click register
- Must open a PECU savings account with a minimum of $10 ($5 membership shares, plus $5 membership fee)
- Must open any PECU checking account and complete (5) signature-based debit card transactions of at least $10 each within 60 days of account opening
- Promotional deposit will be deducted if checking account is closed less than 180 days after opening account
- Promotion not valid for existing PECU members (existing PECU members can refer a friend, but not be the person that is referred)

They offer a free checking account with no monthly minimums.
Early Account Termination Fee
According to their fee schedule there is an early account termination fee of $10 if the account is closed within six months, you also need to keep the account open for twelve months with a direct deposit otherwise you’ll pay another $50 fee.
Our Verdict
Previously this was $200 and required a direct deposit and had to be opened in branch, so deal is significantly better now. Will add to our best bank bonus page.
