Our Verdict
Nice and easy 500 points, not sure if this is only on flexperk cards but we’ve seen the same offer for the Altitude before as well. U.S. Bank recently added real-time mobile rewards that allows you to get 1.5¢ per point on all travel purchases (not just those made on the U.S. Bank travel portal).

So I have yet to see an option to sign up for RTR on my card, with or without a signup bonus. Is it because I have an AMEX? I only have around 18,000 points and need to spend 6,000 before they expire at the end of the month. I don’t use the card anymore; the card has no annual fee thanks to an offer I got a while ago which waived the AF if I had any other US Bank account (I also have a checking account which is free if I have any US Bank credit card, plus the Cash+ card). I don’t need to buy any travel at the moment. Worst case I’ll just cash them out for a penny a point.
Real time rewards does not work for Amtrak. I called to confirm; it does not fall under any of the codes that count. (It is somewhat annoying that the Altitude Reserve advertises rail as a category, but after many calls to customer service three different commuter rail agencies have gotten me only 1% cash back. All three hit the travel category for BofA Premium Rewards.)
Pretty sure you can only do this once per card. I have signed up for RTR & received the 500 points for each FlexPerks card I’ve had, even if I had the same card previously: Travel Rewards Visa twice.
IME, this is not available on the FlexPerks Gold AmEx.
How do you guys track the purchase when you get the sms for redemption? SMS doesn’t give the purchase amout but just the number of points to redeem. Sometimes its easier to figure out but what if there was a delay in message ot back to back to transactions.
I got offered 500 points to add a vacation photo. Here was the text of the offer I clicked:
“Where has FlexPerks taken you?
Your award travel photo could be worth 20,000 FlexPoints.”
Is there a link to that offer?
Not sure if it works because it was behind that login page. It was my 4 promotion on the promo page linked in the article.
