U.S. Bank FlexPerks cardholders should have received a notice on their latest statement informing them of two upcoming changes:
- In Q1 of 2020 cardholders will earn 5x FlexPoints for every net $1 spent on hotels and car rentals purchased through the FlexPerks Rewards Center when using a FlexPerks card.
- Beginning November 1, 2019 the Travel Advisor Consultation fee will increase to $39 (from $35) per award ticket made over the phone. In addition there will be an online air award ticket fee of $6.00 per domestic ticket and $10.99 per international ticket.
Disappointing to see a mandatory fee added. The addition of the 5x earning rate isn’t that attractive as you can get bigger discounts by going through other portals for hotel bookings, might be ok for car rental bookings but will depend on how it prices compared to other online travel agencies.
