Uber Now Offering Auto-Renewing Ride Passes

Uber has been offering ride passes for some time, this is where you pay an upfront fee and receive discounted rides for 28 days. The problem has always been that these aren’t available for everybody and even when they are available they sell out quickly. Reader Stephen E just got offer giving him an auto renewing pass (subject line: ‘This month’s forecast: savings’). It seems that the pass will auto renew for up to 12 weeks and you can toggle it off when needed under the Ride Pass section of the app. Uber provides a small F.A.Q regarding these recurring passes here.

The biggest problem with ride passes currently is the availability of them. I understand Uber wants to test these before releasing them for everybody but at the moment it’s a real hassle trying to work out if you’re targeted and even if you are they usually sell out before you can purchase them. Hopefully these auto renewing passes help somewhat with this.

I don’t see “Ride Pass” as an option on my app anymore…wonder what happened. Anyone knows how to get that back as an option on the app.

I have been getting the ride share pass in LA for 2 months on and off. The months I didn’t get it I was offered half off up to 20 rides. Maximum value$10. They usually send an email around 4 days before the last one expires.

I’ve received a Ride Pass in LA twice in the last two months. Basically, back to back and hopefully I’ll get this renewable offer as my Ride Pass ended a couple days ago.
