United is running another shopping portal bonus for shopping done starting June 21 through June 30. Update: Via Reddit it appears that those who have the United credit card got this offer with a starting date of today, June 19.
- Spend a total of $250 or more through the United Mileage Plus Shopping portal and get a bonus of 1,000 United miles. This is in addition to the regular earn.
I got this offer via email and there doesn’t seem to be a public landing page link for this offer at the moment; hopefully you got this offer via email. The fine print doesn’t have any targeted wording that I see so it might work for anyone. Check your spam too.
The Fine Print
- During the “Summer” bonus campaign, which runs from June 21, 2016 through June 30, 2016 at 11:59:59 pm ET(the “Bonus Period”), Member will receive a one-time bonus of 1,000 bonus award miles on qualifying purchases, in addition to the standard miles earned from shopping online through MileagePlus® Shopping. Update: Via Reddit it appears that those who have the United credit card got this offer with a starting date of today, June 19.
- Bonus miles will be issued based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period: 1,000 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of $250 or more.
- Returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products are not included in the bonus award miles eligibility calculation; please see the MileagePlus Shopping site for details on product eligibility and/or any coupon code details or other usage restrictions.
- Please allow 8-10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus award miles to post to your MileagePlus Shopping account.
- The maximum number of bonus award miles that will be awarded to an eligible MileagePlus Shopping account through the “Summer” bonus campaign is 1,000 bonus award miles.

Our Verdict
Pretty good deal. As an example, you can spend $250 on eBay and get .5 miles per dollar (1 mile per dollar if you have the United credit card) + 1,000 bonus miles. Or use any other merchant you are shopping at.
We had a similar offer from United last month. And you can also get 1750 free United miles by signing up for MyPoints and 500 United miles with Visa Checkout.
