The Offer
Public
This offer used to be 30,000 Bonus Miles for $1,000 in spend.
- 50,000 Bonus Miles after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months your account is open. This is public. Direct link to offer.
- 50,000 Bonus Miles after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months your account is open. Plus, earn a $50 Statement Credit after your first purchase. This is technically public but the link is only shown when you go to book a flight on United. Direct link to offer. note that the banner ad has not yet been updated, so if you go to book a flight, you will see an add for 30k + $50 statement credit. if you click on it, it should actually take you to 50k + $50 statement credit.
Business
I believe the first link has been standard for a while now, but it is included for completeness.
- 50,000 Bonus Miles after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months your account is open. Annual fee waived first year. This is public. Direct link to offer. It is also on Chase’s website.

This is technically public, but I believe the link is only supposed to be shown when you go to book a flight on United. Direct link to offer.
Targeted
All of these offers are targeted and require you to log in to your United account to proceed. They are highly YMMV. Also note that these links are not absolute: targeted mailers will give you a specific URL (such as unitedexplorercard.com/miles1) that will require you to log in to see the page. While these links may not work for you, you could still be targeted by one of those unitedexplorercard.com URLs — so keep an eye out for mail! Be sure to pay attention to the terms: if you aren’t targeted for any of these offers, you’ll likely be redirected to the standard public offer that does not have an annual fee waiver (so don’t assume that your annual fee is waived just because you pull up a 50,000 mile offer).
- 50,000 Bonus Miles after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months your account is open. Annual fee waived. This is a standard targeted offer usually available by mail. Direct link to offer.

Our Verdict
We’ve covered the various United offers a number of times, including the last 70k miles offer — which, like this offer, was the highest ever. If you’re lucky enough to be targeted for the 70k offer and are looking for United miles, there are very few better signup bonuses. If you’ve recently signed up for a 50k offer, it couldn’t hurt to SM Chase and ask them to match, but the prospects of being matched are probably not very good — as Will noted in the last 70k miles post, Chase can be very peculiar about matching.
As far as I am aware, all of these offers, including any targeted offers you get in the mail, are subject to 5/24.
If you’re considering applying for this card, you’ll definitely want to review the things everybody should know about Chase credit cards first.
