The Offer
Direct link to offers: $825 | $400
- Wells Fargo is offering two business checking bonuses. Both bonuses require opening a Initiate Business Checking account.
- $400 bonus when you deposit $2,500 or more to your new business checking account by day 30 and maintain a minimum daily collected balance of $2,500 through day 60 after account opening
- $825 bonus when you deposit $25,000 or more to your new business checking account by day 30 and maintain a minimum daily collected balance of $25,000 through day 60 after account opening
The Fine Print
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
The Initiate Business Checking account has $10 monthly fee which is waived if you have one of the following each fee period:
- $500 minimum daily balance, OR
- $1,000 average ledger balance
Early Account Termination Fee
There is no early account termination fee mentioned.
Our Verdict
Not as good as the previous $1,500 in branch offer, but that was back in 2022 so I’m not sure we will see that again. With this new bonus you’re basically needing to hold the funds in there for 30 days (realistically a little longer to deal with transfers). Both bonuses are worth doing given the returns, the one you prefer will depend on how much cash you have on hand. Will add this to our best business checking bonus page.

Super easy bonus!
5/21/25 – Account opened with $510 initial deposit
6/17/25 – $25K deposit
7/24/25 – $825 “Promotion Bonus” posted
Is 6/17/25 the deposit became available /posted on WF side?
Did you make the 25K deposit by pulling from Wells Fargo side or pushed from the other bank ?
As long as the deposit goes through, it isn’t based on when it’s made available, but rather when it was deposited.
Got this one opened up on 07/19 in branch from an appointment i made a week prior. Could have done either amount, but $400 one looks to be the much better ROI.
WF was pretty lax with me. I only brought a recent month statement from my Chase Business Checking account and just told them i want to run it under Sole-Prop(my SSN as the EIN#) and just told them a category i had previous history in (online/wholesale/ebay)
It did took a grueling hour or so because of their god awful glitchy computers . Sometimes its good to just shoot the shit with your Bankers every now and then. I always prefer doing Business account openings in person (except for the really anal ones that need a million docs like M&T)
I opened last week funding $300 with a Citi credit card. The transaction was coded as services, NOT cash advance.
I can also confirm that credit card funding is possible, given a DP that I (accidentally!) posted on the wrong thread.

Easy as pie!
Account opened online (real single-member LLC) with $50 deposit.
2 days later: deposit $2.5k (earlier than needed, but just as not to think about it
Continuously used the account to receive business payments and to transfer the money out, maintaining $2.5k balance at all times.
2 months + 2 days later: $400 deposit labeled as “Promotion Bonus”
Nice account, works fine with Zelle, no minimum balance required, easy ACH transfers. Definitely happy to keep this one around for a bit while I close other business accounts and wait for the churning timer to reset.
$825 bonus posted 65 days after account opening.
Cha-Ching!
5.19 – Opened account in branch(see my earlier post) with $25 transferred from WF savings account still open having just earned that bonus
6.16 – Pushed $25k and change from Fidelity, no issues linking this biz account.
7.21 – Pulled $24,500 back to Fidelity
7.23 – $825 bonus posted as “Promotion Bonus”
I left $500 in, plan to for another 30 days or so then close. Hopefully you can close biz accounts online as easy as personal accounts.
