To receive the $200 cash bonus, open a new checking account by February 11, 2017 and receive $100; perform 10 debit card transactions or set up direct deposit by March 31, to receive another $100.

Avoiding Fees

Monthly fees are waived on all of their accounts for the first three months. If you close your account within 180 days of opening they will charge you an early account termination fee of $40.

eChecking $4.95 Monthly

This is waived with debit card usage and eStatements or direct deposit (wages or social security) and eStatements.

Better-Than-Free $4.95 Monthly

This is waived with an average balance of $750 or $2,500 in relationship balances or any loan or direct deposits or 10 debit card transactions.

Our Verdict

They are obviously trying to restrict people like us from getting the bonus. I’m obviously not a fan of this as I like to help my readers. Overall this is a pretty good bonus. I think they will be quite strict on what qualifies as a direct deposit so that is something you should definitely keep in mind. For now we probably won’t add this to our best bonus list, but that might change at a later date.
