The Offer
- Kohler Credit Union is offering a $100 referral bonus to both parties when the person signing up completes the following requirements within 90 days:
- Sets up and receives a minimum of $3,000 in the first 90 days
- Signs up for eStatements
- Makes at least 3 debit card purchases over $20
The Fine Print
- Must be 18 years old to participate. To qualify for referral bonus the following requirements must be completed within 90 days of account opening: open a new Kohler Credit Union checking account and set up direct deposit (minimum of $3000 deposited over the first 90 days), enroll in eStatements, make a minimum of three debit card purchases over $20. The account must be opened using the specific link provided and remain open and in good standing for a minimum of 90 days. Upon meeting these requirements, the bonus will be issued as ‘Account Bonus’ and will be deposited into the referrer account and referee account within 10 days after the requirements for the program are fulfilled. Membership eligibility required.
- If a current member of KCU refers an individual to KCU, and the referred individual subsequently opens an account, both the referring member and the referred individual hereby consent to the payment of a referral reward. Additionally, both parties agree and acknowledge that they consent to each other being aware of their respective membership status with KCU.
- Kohler Credit Union reserves the right to disqualify any referrals in circumstances where Kohler Credit Union reasonably believes that referrals were not sent to Kohler Credit Union in good faith. Minors are not eligible to participate in this program. The value of the referral bonus will be reported to the IRS, state, or local tax authorities, if required by applicable law. The recipient is responsible for any federal, state, or local taxes on this bonus item. This offer cannot be combined with any other offer. Participation in the Refer a Friend program carries with it a certification from the referring member that the referring member personally knows the referee(s) and the referrer is not acting as an affiliate marketer for Kohler Credit Union. The referring member can earn up to $500 for referrals per calendar year . Only one (1) payment of $100 to referee is allowed regardless of the number of new checking accounts opened. If member is referred by more than one referring member, the first referrer would receive the incentive.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
Economy checking has no monthly fees.
Early Account Termination Fee
I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so unsure if there is any EATF.
Our Verdict
Feel free to share referrals in the comments below along with if it’s a hard/soft pull to open and if there is any credit card funding.
