Yelp Cash Back Program Closing Down

The Yelp Cash Back program is ending on October 31, according to an email sent out to users. We’ve removed it from our Complete List of Card-Linked Reward Programs.

We’re always working on ways to improve the Yelp experience, and that means focusing on features that will make Yelp even more helpful for everyone who uses it. To that end, we wanted to let you know that the Yelp Cash Back program is ending on October 31.

Here’s a quick timeline:

  • The last day to activate offers from participating businesses is October 26
  • The last day to earn cash back rewards from purchases on valid offers is October 31
  • Your account will be credited for any final cash back rewards you’ve earned by November 18

Please make sure you have a valid credit card on file by October 31 to receive your earned cash back. Cash back balances can’t be recovered after October 31.

Once the program has ended, your Yelp Cash Back transaction history and any credit card information used only for this program will be deleted. Cards used for other programs will be kept on file.

It was great when the deals were automatic. When you had to opt in, you had to remember to go to Yelp to see if the establishment you were visiting participated in the program.

For a a couple years, this program was really good. It would be part of a triple stack at some local merchants. A couple years ago, yelp caught on and discontinued payments if you received an award through another party such as a dining reward or DOSH.

I once made $15 cash back from a business I had never visited. Not sure how, but I kept it.

Thanks Yelp!
Also, bye.

The Yelp Cash back program was wayyyyyy too picky about awarding points. So many times I got denied just for scanning my loyalty card which I guess according to their terms it is not allowed.

That sam’s club offer was nice when it stacked with dosh and visa local offers on Uber.

Also ODOM offer was crazy. Too bad I didn’t maximize it.
