[Cancellation Reminder] 12 Months Free UberEats Eats Pass For American Express Cardholders (Green, Gold, Platinum)

Update 11/23/21: Just a reminder to cancel this subscription, if you don’t want it, before getting charged.

Update 12/15/20: Now live. Looks like it’s a public offer for all Platinum, Gold, and Green consumer cardholders..

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • American Express Platinum, Gold, and Green consumer cardholders get a complimentary subscription to Eats Pass for up to 12 months (12 months is a $119.88 value). Requires enrollment.

Our Verdict

Reader AN sent this one in. It’s a nice $120 value given Eats Pass costs $9.99 per month. This offer is being found in the UberEats app under the Eats Pass tab. Might be highly targeted.

Amex Platinum cardholders also get $200 in Uber credits each year which can be used on UberEats as well. Not sure if this Eats Pass offer is showing for Platinum cardholders or if for other cardholders. Let us know in the comments if you got it.

Has anyone had their still-eligible Uber One pass disappear? Has anyone gotten it back?
I enrolled in December 2021. My pass disappeared about 6 weeks ago despite having 5+ months left in my 12 month program, and I’ve been incessantly marketed to join Uber One (but then am told I am not eligible if I act).

I’ve been going back and forth with clueless support for 5 weeks. The either tell me that someone is working on it and to please give it more time, or they misread it and tell me “Enrollment ended on 12/31/21, so you can no longer enroll. Sorry! ”

Hoping someone else has figured out how to get it back. It’s endlessly frustrating to have the popup “You could have saved $5 on the order you just made if you had Uber One!” as I’m trying to use my monthly credits.

Cancelled before my free AmEx eats pass expired and I was charged for renewal.

Is the best play here if you have a new card that hasn’t been added to uber yet to create a new uber account before 2021 ends for another free year of uber eats pass (which will eventually be concerted into uber one)?

Or is the expectiation that uber accounts that have an AmEx card which was eligible for the current free year of uber eats pass deal will just be offered a free year of Uber One in 2022 (ie. continued card benefit)?

This is a great time to have your sub expire. Uber one is still 50% off, $50 for the year rn. My sub doesn’t expire for a while so I won’t be able to take advantage.

You should be able to get Uber One before the sub expires. It’s just not showing up on all accounts for some reason – I don’t have Eats Pass anymore and don’t have the option to sign up for Uber One, but my partner who has Eats Pass was able to sign up for annual One and the renewal date is the day after his current Eats month expires

I signed up for the 12 free months with the AMEX Platinum card. Where can I find my subscription’s expiration date, and how do I cancel the subscription? Thanks.

You can find it in your uber eats app. Under account->Eats Pass->Membership->End Membership.

Weird, because it shows me as not signed up, even though I did sign up and get the 5% discount. It says I can now sign up and get free delivery through January — which I believe is the end of my 12 month free AMEX Platinum trial.

Thank you for the reminder. My card was charged but I successfully chat with a CS to get it fully refunded.

My eats pass was due to renew (start charging) tomorrow on 11/24, but there was a pending $9.99 charge on my Plat on 11/22. Logged into UE to cancel but that option was missing in the app, had to chat to get cancelled & request a refund. Missing cancel option is a “known technical glitch”, how convenient.

Uber/Uber Eats will f*ck you if you’re not watching closely. I would never pay for eats pass & only using AmEx credits for free takeout once a month.

They also have a “known technical glitch” where they use non-expiring Uber Cash before expiring AMEX credit.

I’ve heard of that one too, but despite wanting to try during the Platinum monthly Paypal credits, I’ve never been able to add Uber cash to my account. That option has never been in the app. Uber’s entire operation is set up like a targeted AmEx account credit: mostly I expect them to fail, and when it doesn’t I’m mildly surprised.

If you sign up into the offer now (Nov 21), I assume this will carry over till Nov 22. Can we need to cancel subscription only next year.
