Our Verdict

Previously we’ve seen bonuses of up to 35,000 SPG points (105,000 Marriott points) and 90,000 + $100 and 100,000 points via referral. This bonus is more competitive than the standard 75,000 offer but still nothing special. Due to the American Express one bonus per lifetime.

Worth noting that I applied for the standard 75k offer and got the message that I would not receive the bonus due to prior cards. Got an email from Marriott referencing the 75k offer. I applied and never received that message. I was approved. I gotta think I will get the bonus.

Just FYI that both me and and my wife got the bonus after organic spend. It works out well because we love Marriott Vacation Clubs. We’re looking at 2020 😃

I just got the email for 85,000, however I do not have a business. How can I apply?

Any idea if the 24 month rule is counted from account opening date or date SUB was actually posted?

That annual fee isn’t even waived and probably not worth $95k points. And certainly not worth renewing for that anemic free night certificate for hotel night costing up to 35k

Depends on the hotel. I frequent a Marriott hotel about 2-3 times a year with family and friends that costs $200-$300 per night on the weekends when we all go out downtown. The 35k free night covers it. So, I keep my AMEX Business card open for pretty much that reason alone.

My emailed offer was for 85k points. Even though I’ve had & cancelled both the SPG & Marriott biz cards. The offer contains lifetime language, idk why they bothered to target me.

Wow, the current restrictions are even more complicated than what Chase has put on its BonVoy cards related to AMEX BonVoy card ownership…
