William Charles Got yet another offer:
“EARN A $40 STATEMENT CREDIT EACH MONTH when you use your Shop Your Way Mastercard® to make 6 eligible purchases each month of $50 or more each. Offer is good 9/1/2022 (or from the date you activate this offer, whichever date is later) through 11/30/2022.“

Think I have something like 4 offers running at the same time now, wow…

I have 3 offers at the moment, but the one I’m having trouble on is travel (need to spend $350-450 for 20x). Don’t know how to artificially hit, since no upcoming plans.

on my boa MC card travel for the 3% (5.5% pr) includes my rent payment through the property manager. I found the mcc code and sent a message to SYW customer service asking if that merchant code qualifies and they said no, it is not considered travel.

Used to be possible a couple years ago, but then around 2019 people started saying they couldn’t anymore. Haven’t heard of anyone doing it recently.

Any idea if gift cards from an airline, Amtrak, or hotel chain will work? Any other ideas to take advantage of it if you have no immediate travel planned?

Bought a gift card online from Delta…didn’t count as travel. Merchant category was N/A. Description said “DELTA CSTAR GFTCD” I’m thinking it was redirected to a gift card site to make the purchase.

Got the 15% on travel, up to $60 back per month when I spend over $250 a month. Not bad with a pretty low min spend requirement for me this time.

I was offered 10x on Travel, min 1000 spend, max 13k TYP per/mo for Aug/Sep/Oct.

If I remember their travel definition included travel agencies (which others might not) but they have no protections on this card, and we live in a world where travel is having lots of glitches/issues. Not saying that the insurance/protections are being honored (even on cards are where its a benefit) but at least one has a chance of filing a claim, and fighting afterwards.

I’m reluctant to do any air travel until issues get resolved anyways.

Just received this and I am going to try to see what happens:

For total eligible gas station, grocery store and restaurant purchases of $1,000 or more made each month from 07/01/2022 (or the date you activate this offer, whichever is later) through 09/30/2022, you’ll earn 100% back in statement credits (up to a maximum total of $0 in statement credit(s) each month for this offer).

Yep the Grocery/Gas/Restaurant offer is why this is hands down my fav credit card – I’ve had this offer for over a year now and it keeps on coming every three months. Only SUBs can compete with the 13-15% back these net (though now I’ve maxed the 10k for this year so I’m only getting 11% now on these deals but that’s still incredible) and even then I can usually meet the SUB for other cards with other spend and not even have to dip into this.

I have yet to have coffee so maybe this is why, but I do not understand that at all. “maximum total of $0 in statement credits”… Isn’t that a different way of saying a total of nothing? I have read this several times and maybe because I don’t have the offer, to, but can you please ‘splain me a bit more on this ststement and why it is good? Thanks in advance.

Oh! I didn’t notice that part of OP’s comment. Yeah that’s bizarre and definitely seems like a typo. My same offer for 10% on $1000+ says max of $150 so good on spending between $1000-$1500.

I’m curious if their email also has the section that says:

“In the month of: You can earn up to:
July $150 back in statement credits
August $150 back in statement credits
September $150 back in statement credits
That’s a total of up to $450 back in statement credits! “

I am going to try it and find out what I get. Maybe I lose and get nothing. I’d hate to call attention to the gravy train from my and my wife’s Sears cards over the last 2 1/2 years, by asking customer service what my offer really means.

Received an Oops email today. The offer is fixed to be $100 per month (10% back on $1,000 of groceries, gas, and restaurants).

Does it say $100? I would expect it to say 10% back with a max of $150 in credits, (meaning 10% back on between $1000 and $1500)

at least in my offer, have to spend min $750. so you get the bonus when you spend $750-$800 and then nothing more above. have to decide what to do with this. that’s way more than i need to spend on travel. GC ideas?

Yeah I probably won’t take advantage for two of the months but going to try to figure out some things to bundle for trip so I can hit $1000 in one month.

If you fly SWA you can book a flight and cancel it as their flight credits no longer expire. With Wanna Get Away+ you can transfer your flight credits.
