I wonder if you can stack this with the Amex Plat for the incidental flight credit

If you’re asking this, I wonder if you understand how incidental flight credits work

Incidental credits are issued by CC and PP CB is issued by Paypal. One has nothing to do with the other.

No wonder PayPal stock is tanking with dumbass partnerships like this. They need more stores to advertise and accept PayPal QR codes, not on an airplane flight in the goddamn air. Barely anyone knows CVS (and Panda Panda Panda) accepts PayPal and it’s been two years now.

I tried this out with the PayPal QR code on my United flight on Friday, but it didn’t work out. The flight attendant was prepared, but her reader kept returning an invalid QR code error when it attempted to read the code. I noticed that her reader was ridiculously zoomed in, so she needed to hold her phone like three feet away from mine. *shrugs*

Yup, exactly same problem when tried to use it last time back in March. The FA even handed me their device to try to get the QR to read but it was impossible due to extreme zoom. Maybe it will work better this time.

I was able to get mine to work when this offer rolled out earlier this year. BUT, I did witness the scanner being extremely zoomed in. It took her a bit to get it scanned.

I guess its rolling out… not sure I’ll be the first to try using it though!

You can now use the PayPal app to make in-flight purchases using a QR code via the PayPal app onboard your United flight. It’s fast, easy and secure. No Wi-Fi connection needed.

Before you board, download the PayPal app, and set up your payment preference for paying with QR codes in the wallet tab. You can link your Chase MileagePlus® credit card or other credit or debit cards so you’re ready to go once you’re in the air. You’ll continue to earn rewards with your linked rewards credit card. Once you’re onboard and ready to pay, follow the steps below.

Offer me $50 and I can be only guy on the plane saying “I have the QR code from PayPal to pay” (and everybody look at me as if I’m an extraterrestrial).
If in-store is already complicated and unknown by cashiers, imagine inside an United plane!

I have $15 united ecredit that I do not know how to make use of without additional payment option to buy something I don’t need.

Any ideas?

I’m sure you’ll get a response from the flight attendant that this option to pay is not available.

Yep, on my last 4 flights in January they said you could only use the payment card saved on your United account. Don’t think they would let you use a QR Code.

United currently only accepts the United app inflight for payment. You can link your PayPal account in your app wallet.

“Eligible Purchases do not include: (1) any purchase made through PayPal checkout (the PayPal button), not using PayPal QR code functionality,…”

So I guess paying through United app won’t work then, since its not using QR. Right, Celia ?

I was able to link my PayPal account in the United app and now there is a link “Pay With QR code” in My Wallet in the United app that launches a PayPal QR code.

Seems like it should work. Need to get some free Pringles.
