Our Verdict

This will work on third party gift cards, for example:

Remember you have to add the items using the assistant (browser extension). Looks like this is working for people even if they have done a similar deal in the past. Expect many more Amazon promotions in the lead up to prime day. Just recently we’ve seen a new American Express offer, & Discover one click payment offer. We will be updating our complete guide to saving money on Amazon shortly.

Did not work on Opera for Mac. Installed it on a Chrome based browser Vivaldi and it worked like a charm.

I first installed it from the link above in the article, and didn’t see the promo in the chrome app, so i disabled the extension. then, I saw the comment from 007 and tried to install again, and the card was there.

Thanks DOC! I got the $5 promo, even though I did this deal last year.

i didn’t even have to install and re-install the extension. It was already there when I clicked on the amazon assistant but it’s not working on gift cards.

How do I “add the items using the assistant”? It just shows Daily Deals and when I search for an item or try to bring up my saved list it takes me out of the assistant and back to a regular web page.

I tried adding the item to my cart and going through checkout via the page Assistant sent me to, but the discount did not appear.

Am I doing something wrong or am I just not eligible? (Just installed Assistant for the first time now via DoC’s link above)

Thanks DoC. Absolutely brutal full banner ad on Google searches. Will be removing immediately after receiving my credit.

I don’t see the offer when I click the link even if I open in Incognito (before even logging in). Is there a geographic/IP restriction? In other words, I don’t see the offer even when not signed in and without any Amazon (or other) cookies…

EDIT: On the other hand, Google brings up the below link which seems to show a similar offer:

EDIT 2: FWIW, the link said I was ineligble. However, I followed DoC’s instructions and was able to use the credit for a non-Amazon gift card. Thanks, DoC!
