Looks like this is back again. I just got the email for $10 bonus for checking the rate.
I checked my rate on 5/8/21 in the promotion that ended 5/10/21. I didn’t get my gift card, so I called. They claimed that there was no promotion that ended 5/10/21 but they left me upload the screenshot of the Terms (that showed that it ended 5/10).
They refused to pay anyway, stating that that “SoFi reserves the right to exclude any consumer from participating the promotion for any reason..” (it is actually in their terms).
Well, I did already participate but they just refused to pay anyway… (probably because I got the $10 before in 2021…)
I’ve done all the check your rate promotions earlier this year and last year. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get any more GCs since March. Seems the new terms were started right after that and are enforced, even though they may not have been fully updated until now.

Did this the other day. Got my email to receive gift card yesterday. Followed instructions & told I would receive gift card in mail in 3-4 weeks. You can choose from Mastercard, Walmart, Target, Starbuck’s, Whole Foods, & a couple others. I choose Mastercard. Pretty easy. Will wait for my card in the mail. Thanks.

Went as far as phone number and then they started to ask about W-2 and employer and thought I would quit, since I chose my rate and did not want a hard pull. I assume that will suffice?

I checked my rate and was also offered a welcome bonus of $350. Any reason not to get a loan and pay it off immediately? I don’t think they have prepayment penalties.

I ended up doing it and agree. A very easy $350 (minus about $6 of interest paid between disbursement and repayment in full) for one hard pull.
Tried this the other time it was posted and I wasn’t qualified for some reason (self employed, but no issue getting credit card approvals or providing proof of income). Seems hit or miss based on the comments.
You will never get the $10, but they will sell your personal info to other lenders so expect to see a ton of spam in your email account. Ask me how I know…

Nope. I *may* have not gone through the entire process. I went as far as the page that has the rates. I didn’t click the ‘continue app’ button bc I didn’t know if it would trigger a hard credit pull. Offer said that you had to view the rates, though. So, I don’t know.
I picked a loan and have it showing on my dashboard, but didn’t submit anything for them to lock in the rate or do a hard pull.

You have to talk to Customer Promotions – a third party. They’re eager to help you out. Problem is, they should have zero involvement.

Received my physical MGC two weeks later. Be aware, the card numbers look really easy to guess/hack.
A paper insert also noted the $350 loan promotion if you proceeded with your checked rates. This pretty much confirms you can stack both promotions together.

Of course not. You aren’t buying the gift card, you are choosing how to get your $10. You can choose specific merchants, but that wouldn’t be smart. The best choice is MGC.

You will receive a code within a day or two to select what gift card you want. Then they will come via snail mail. Well, at least the MGC will since that’s the only ones I selected.

I used to have a SoFi account way back when. Closed it years ago. Is it worth having an account for all these offers?
I think it depends if you are able to meet the additional requirements for any account opened after June 9, 2020. Anyone who opened before then are grandfathered into better benefits (no DD needed, free worldwide third party ATM?), which IMO no one should close if you fall into that category.
Just to clarify, $500 monthly DD requirement is needed for the other SoFi promotions, not this one. Does not apply to anyone with an account opened before 6/9/20, which has been the case for all their promotions.

FWIW – I applied for the Person loan using P2’s referral (Application pending still) But the system still gave me the $10 rate check. I Used P2s referral link first, then logged me into my account and I Had to do the rate check to get approved for the referral… I didnt do a rate check and then tried the referral link. Just throwing this out there, bc it does stack
Took about two weeks to get three physical MCGC. They utilize a different website that I have never used before which requires you to register your card in order to view balance (probably can call to get this info) and set a pin. Otherwise, you DON’T have a pin (didn’t try last 4) and have to use “credit” instead of “debit”, which is what they suggest. Originally I was going to liquidate via MS debit pin methods, but decided to use it as a CC for organic spend instead and just get rid of them.
I hate registering for extremely small denominations.

I can get all the way to verifying my email and them presented with questions re “Remember me” or not, but it doesn’t seem to process nor create my account. Might try again tomorrow but so far no luck registering in Chrome and Firefox.

Pleasantly surprised I got 3x $10 MCGC ($30 total) after checking rates for three different products. Two were declined, only one actually showed me my rates. Took 72 hours instead of the stated 48 hours. Seems they may not process gift cards over the weekend?
So I got 2x $10 MGC ($20 total) for checking 3 separate products. It’s only been ~24 hours so maybe another one is coming, not sure. Thanks for your DP – didn’t think about checking multiples (since already giving them info with one check).
I requested a quote on Oct 26, 2020 and received the card only on Nov 2, 2020, 7 days later. The process required me to call SoFi regarding the fact that the card has not arrived (about 50 min on the phone – on hold most of the time) and then later filling out the “Contact CEO” form on SoFi.com to report the issue to Anthony Twitter. Even evaluating the effort at the minimum wage rate I sent more time resolving the issue than the gift card is worth.

I did this the opposite way and it worked fine though. I used P2 referral link which we earned the $300 each for. I paid off my loan and then got this email for checking my rate for student loans and got the $10 gift card.

I checked their student loan refinance rates but it was barely 0.3% difference from the current lender I have. Easy process and got my $10 gift card bonus from Sofi today. (you can choose between 8~10 gift cards, including mastercard, home depot, Starbucks, amazon, etc)
The rate they offered was higher than my current rate. I’m not seeing anyway to get the card. They’re asking me to submit loan docs, which I don’t want to do if they can’t offer me a better rate.
You must have done something wrong. All you have to do is get them to offer you the rates and then you’ll get a promotion code in your email inbox within 24-48 hours.
So as long as I fill in enough information to advance to the screen that shows me the rates, and then provide no further information (requested on subsequent screens), I should get the promotion code email within about a day or two? Thanks for your guidance.

10/27 received code and chose AGC
10/27 checked home loan rate for a measly $2million. Made it to some screen where it said xxxx would be in contact with me about my home loan.
10/28 replied to xxxx loan officer email saying no need to waste his time with me am poor boy and not in the market for a home.
10/28 received different code and chose AGC

Okay first of all, I was targeted for this offer for $10 and found the email in my junk folder. I thought the easiest route would be to try qualifying for a personal loan of $5,000 (the minimum) but they didn’t like my payment terms and salary so it just denied it after the soft pull on my credit file. Then, I tried the “refinance” option and put in random numbers which resulted in getting rates shown by them. However, now I got put on some CSR’s radar and they both emailed and called me so be prepared to be bombarded with sales attempts after this just to get some $10 gift card. Anyway, I am still waiting for the promotion code to be emailed (supposed to take 24-48 hours) which I will then have to use with a link to redeem. A bit of a hassle but hey it’s $10 and we both know how much we like free money. I blocked the number that called me so let’s hope that’s the end of their sales attempts.

Update. Received the promotion code 24 hours after checking rates. Easy enough. No further communication attempts from Sofi. Repeated for P2 at same address using the link they sent me. We both currently have accounts at Sofi for the $200 bank bonuses and had to login to check the rates but no issues after doing that.
I received a targeted email yesterday for $450 when refinancing student loans (subject: “Get $450 when you refinance your student loan with SoFi”). If you have a family member, you’d still be better off with the $300 referral bonus though.

i got this and did the pqual. i got pqualed, but afterwards, it asked me to verify my income and student loans by uploading tax forms and logging into the student loan site. so i exited. hopefully, that wasn’t part of the requirements. not going through all of that.

Agreed, after seeing your rate, I don’t suggest proceeding. I for some reason thought I would see more info of the rate by clicking “Continue”, but I think that just “started my application”. I exited shortly after on the part where they said they needed more info after my work, etc info. Even though I didn’t complete, it said I “applied”. I quickly contacted CSR to make sure the application did not go through, which they said it didn’t.
TLDR: Yes, they make it super easy for the application to go through, and I went slightly past the seeing rates part. Be careful.
