  • All participating points conversion partners: Accor Hotels, ADCB, Rezidor, Citibank UAE*only, Emirates Islamic Bank, Heathrow Rewards, Hilton Honors, Hyatt, IHG, Joyalukkas, Marriott Rewards, NBAD, Shangri-La, Etisalat Rewards, Commercial Bank of Dubai, HSBC, Boubyan Bank, ADCB TouchPoints
  • Non participation points conversion partners: Flybuys Rewards, AMEX MR*, Starwood and Citibank ROW* are excluded from this promotion

Our Verdict

They offer this on a semi regularly basis, it used to be a 25% bonus and sometimes included SPG/Citi and sometimes not. Looks like 20% is the new standard. Probably only worth it if redeeming SPG points (1:1 transfer rate and 5,000 bonus points every 20,000 transfer) or for a Marriott flight & hotel package.

Please think twice about moving points to Etihad. I had to recently cancel an award flight due to hurricane impact. Etihad cancelled (after waiting an hour on the phone) and will not commit to when my points will return. I need to make another reservation, and I am afraid those will be gone soon, due to flying Bus. class to Europe. I have tried twitter, facebook, emailing, calling, and just get a lame response saying we will get back to you.

Be forewarned. I have no choice now, but in the future I will be very hesitant about using them at all.

I believe it’s 1 year from accrual date.

Does Etihad still expire Miles 2 years from accrual date, and not extend based on last activity?

Less interested in this now that they destroyed the Brussels Airlines redemption chart.

Oh! Did they change the chart, the first I am hearing about this. When did this happen?
