Shaw’s: $10 off $50 on Mastercard and many other Brands

Shaw’s is offering a special deal to get $10 off $50 on select gift card brands. The following gift cards are eligible:

• Mastercard
• Bath & Body Works
• Bedandbreakfast.com
• The Children’s Place
• Fandango
• IHOP
• JCPenney

The Fine Print

• Valid 5/5/17 – 5/18/17
• Gift card purchases must be made in a single transaction
• One offer per transaction
• Excludes Mastercard variable-load products

Our Verdict

We posted this same deal for Safeway/Albertson’s a couple days ago, the only difference is the dates – Shaw’s starts and ends two days later. Another difference is that the Shaw’s one is publicly advertised in the circular, and it should then work at all locations, while the Safeway one is YMMV. There might be other affiliated stores that have it advertised clearly, let us know if you find any.

Variable-load Mastercards won’t work as per the terms, but if you find a fixed-value $200 or $100 or $50 it could be a good deal. Some of the other gift card brands might be interesting to some as well.

The biggest part of the deal is obviously how many you can do. The terms indicate that the limit is one per transaction so it’ll depend on how many the cashier is willing to do for you.

Use your Chase Freedom card to max out the $1500 category limit or use another card that earns bonus points at the grocery.
