The Deal
eBay is currently selling e-gift cards at 5% off. You can buy $25 or $50 denominations(HT: MilesToMemories)
Limit 3 gift cards per buyer. However, I’ve successfully added 3 $50 gift cards and 3 $25 gift cards, for a total of $225 in gift cards.
eBay gift cards can be used to purchase other gift cards on eBay, such as $100 Staples e-gift card for $90.
Stacking the Deal
There’s also a targeted offer which I received to earn 4x eBay Bucks today, or 8%. I don’t know if all people who opt in for spam from eBay got this, or if this is targeted to me.
Normally, you don’t earn eBay Bucks on eBay gift card purchases, but this time it’s showing up in my account that I will earn eBay Bucks on this purchase, in my case that’s like an additional 8% off, for a whopping 13% off eBay gift cards.
My guess is that since this is an “As seen on Ellen show” promotion, it’s coded differently (mistakenly?) to earn eBay Bucks. Hopefully, they won’t change it or reverse it. [UPDATE: The eBay Bucks are showing up in my account. Hopefully, it won’t be reversed.][UPDATE #2: This deal is still alive (10 PM EST), but they changed the ability to earn eBay Bucks on this. Those who already purchased should be able to keep the eBay Bucks they earned, but if you purchase now, the system won’t give you eBay Bucks. Apparently, it was a coding error which has now been fixed. I’m still very hopeful about earning portal points (see below)]
Since this is coded to earn eBay Bucks, it’s possible it will earn portal points too. We recommend going through topcashback or befrugal who are giving 1.5% cash-back.
No word how long this will last. I’d recommend that you head over there immediately. That’s what I’ll be doing as soon as I finish this post.
