Is the 200 dollar chime bonus churnable too in addition to portal bonus?
Has anyone successfully churned Swagbucks portal for Chime more than one time?
I completed it last year and this year I’m seeing the offer in their portal again.
Have you tried all the other portals? I would try everyone of them once before I’d attempt to use the same one again.
Yeah I’m in the process of doing the others, was just curious if anyone has attempted it
Swagbucks fine print says “Enrollments and direct deposits must be completed directly via website or app link to receive awards. Enrollments and direct deposits resulting from enrollments completed outside of website or app links will not receive awards.”
What exactly do they mean by “outside of website”?–you can’t initiate a push direct deposit to Chime in either the Chime or Swagbucks website.
No it just says to sign up through the Swagbucks otherwise you won’t get credit for proper tracking.
So “direct deposits must be completed directly via website or app link” is a misprint?
Website link. I clicked on the link then it took me to the sign up page and got my 450$ 2 days after my DDs
DP Bancorp
6/11 sign up through MyPoints
6/13 1600 pts pending
6/13 $200 push from OnePay
6/18 72000 pts pending
7/18 all points have posted to my account
This is my third churn having done it already with Rakuten and Swagbucks. Player 2 has almost the exact same timeline and also had Bancorp and used OnePay to fund it. One $200 push was enough to trigger Chime+ and have the pts go to pending status. It was probably all that was needed but I sent another because why take the chance. Will close tomorrow and will attempt churn #4 with Upromise after a short cool down period of maybe a month or so. As an added bonus, I had referred my player 2 so I get an additional 10% of her earnings. Did the same with Swagbucks too. All in all the two of us have brought in an additional $3000 in the span of about 9 months.
I highly recommend signing up for OnePay and getting their bonus too. I know it can be used for Bancorp for a fake DD. It’s kind of like killing two birds with one stone.
Considering the fact that no 1099 is issued for this and you can churn it 3 times in less than a year, Id say this is hands down one of the best bonuses out there.
Happy churning.
Are you using a different email on each portal/ chime sign up? I’ve churned it twice now with mypoints and inboxdollars using a different email, but not sure if that’s really necessary. Thanks!
That’s how I’ve done it. I don’t know if it’s necessary or not but it works. And I will always keep doing what I know works.
Did an ach push from Onepay to Chime and it isn’t working as a DD anymore. I can confirm that.
Correction: Although the email from Chime mentioned just a deposit and asked me to set up direct deposit, it seems Chime app just sent me a notification that my chime+ is activated. So, eventually OnePay works.
That was superfast as I opened the account last night and initiated ACH push from Onepay to my new Chime account. ACH got deposited in the morning along with $250 bonus from Chime. Fastest bonus ever for me 😀
Wait, did you guys connect your accounts via plaid and push? Can’t figure out another way on the website
Want to update my DP about having a fraudulent account opened in my name and being unable to open a Chime account myself:
10/13/24: Tried to apply for Chime but discovered my info had been used to open a fraudulent account. Even after having Chime close the fraudulent account, I was unable to open an account even though my email was different. Previous comment: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/chime-earn-10000-swagbucks-for-opening-a-new-account-receiving-a-direct-deposit/#comment-1931126
3/10/25: Tried again but was still unable to proceed through the app.
7/18/25: Tried again and was successful!
I wonder if the period when I was unable to open was connected to the churn reset period? If so, seem to imply at least 5 months
Just a guess, but I am thinking they aren’t going to allow you to open an account, ever. I know it sounds unfair, but I think they are going to err on the side of caution. Businesses have the right to decide whom they do business with and you have a black cloud overhead, even if it wasn’t your fault. They may not fully not believe that you weren’t involved, or just don’t want to risk finding out.
There are plenty of DP’s saying that 1-2 month is the churn cool down period.
Also should not last summer 2 fraudulent Cash App accounts were opened with my info (name, SSN, phone). So seems like scammers (maybe the same scammer) target Chime and Cash App. Not sure why though. Like how does it benefit them?
They are online-only money apps that have basic ID verification, and don’t use Chex or the credit reports that would be more likely be noticed, I’d assume. How the scammers end up using it and their end game… not sure. Maybe because they themselves are staying under the radar of the law? IRS?
I know some non-scammers that can no longer get a Cash App account…

Bancorp Bank
6/29/25 Chime account Opened via Swagbucks
7/11 $201 Schwab brokerage account push to Chime (counted as DD)
7/15 $202 Schwab brokerage account push to Chime (counted as DD), Chime+ triggered
7/15 Received an email from Swagbucks saying 45000 points pending and will credit on 8/15
Originally, I was going to push money from Fidelity account but I found out Fidelity holds funds for 2 weeks after transferred from another bank before the fund is available to withdraw. Also, I was a little nervous seeing some people reporting Fidelity push didn’t count as DD at Chime, so I decided to open Schwab account. It seems like Schwab worked great for me. (And they don’t hold new funds for 2 weeks before you can transfer to another bank. Schwab holds new funds for about 1 week before you can transfer to another bank.)
Looks like Chime is offering up to $350 without having to go through a portal. It reads that it’s only available through their introductory web page. I don’t know if I’m allowed to post links here or not. The DP’s about the portals not paying out are pretty disheartening, so I’m reluctant to go that route.
Take the failure DP’s with a grain of salt. There are plenty of people who manage to open this account and earn the portal bonus, and even others who have done it multiple times using different portals. I am not saying the failures aren’t real, but certainly at least some are self induced. There is very little lost other than some time, even if it does fail, and way more to gain.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I’m still relatively a newbie. 😁

On the other side of the coin, if you have a $350 direct offer, you can do it now, and then maybe do the portal offer down the road. You probably cannot NOT do them in the opposite order.

Is there early account termination fee for Chime? I funded Chime with Schwab and they counted as “direct deposit”. I received the points pending confirmation email from Swagbucks. Is it OK for me to withdraw all the money from Chine? Or do I need to keep $400+ funds in the Chine account until Swagbucks points are all credited to my SB account? I don’t recall seeing anything about needing to leave any funds in Chime account after DD were done.
No. You can close Chime whenever you want without a fee.

I haven’t transferred any money into my chime account but today they sent me email saying my 36k swagbucks are on the way. I opened my chime account through their link yesterday then filled out 3 swagbucks surveys, submitted an e-receipt and linked a grocery account. Do I still need to DD the money in?
All the offers dropped to the $350 range?
