A 50,000 Point ($750) Wells Fargo Sign Up Offer I Missed: Wells Fargo Business Elite

I recently blogged about two new personal credit cards that Wells Fargo is offering, the Wells Fargo Propel World (up to $700 in sign up value) & Wells Fargo Propel 365 (up to $300 in sign up value). I thought I’d covered all of the cards with decent sign up bonuses, I even checked to see if the business cards had anything on offer. Unfortunately on the main business credit card page there is no mention of any sign up bonus on the Elite card.

Fortunately Noob Traveler had a post on this card that mentioned the sign up bonus of 50,000 points is is visible if you look for the offer through the Wells Fargo financial advisers page. Here are the full details of the Wells Fargo Business Elite Credit Card:

  • 50,000 Wells Fargo Points after $10,000 in credit card spend within three months
  • Earn 1 point per $1 spent, or 1% cash back
  • No annual fee, but you must pay $50 to enroll in the rewards program each year
  • Credit line up to $100,000
  • Up to 200 additional cards at no cost
  • Travel accident insurance up to $250,000

The main issue with this card is you can’t apply directly. You must apply through your Wells Fargo Financial Advisor and I presume you’ll also need a legitimate business to be eligible (eBay & Amazon “businesses” will not count). Thankfully the deal isn’t isn’t that great, you need to spending a massive $10,000 and you’ll only earn an additional 10,000 points for doing so. If this card earned at a decent rate at certain locations then it may be worth trying to get it, but as it stands I wouldn’t bother with it – even if I had a financial advisor with Wells Fargo and a business that warranted such a card.

We’ve added this card to our master list of business bank account bonuses.

Good find, thanks! Travel Card Guide–the cards aren’t necessarily hard to get approved for, though they can be. I’m not sure is how much is due to WF’s underwriting and how much is due to their incompetence. I was approved instantly when I applied, while my wife was rejected a couple of times over a couple of months before they finally approved her with a credit line $5K higher than what they gave me.

These cards are very hard to get approved for, is this correct? I have always passed on WF because of the hassle.
