  • Amazon reserves the right to modify or cancel the offer at any time.
  • If you violate any of these terms, the offer will be invalid.

Our Verdict

It may only work for Prime members, and it’s possibly more targeted than that too (“select customers”). Check if the promo code works and you’ll know if you are eligible. We’ll repost this when this deal goes live on Prime Day, July 15 – July 16.

If you’re new to Amazon Assistant or you haven’t used it in a year, you might be able to get a $10 discount on your first order of $50+. Should be possible to stack both deals by shopping $100+ on July 15 – 16 and getting a $10 instant discount + a $10 promotional code. And all this should stack with the 20% discount from the Membership Rewards deal too.

I was able to get this to work by doing the following:

-Cleared out Amazon cart
-Searched for each item I was buying via the Assistant (it opens a new tab for each search)
-Added items back to cart and went to checkout via one of the tabs Assistant opened
-Applied promo code successfully

I’m not sure if it was that I already had items in my cart, or that you have to actually search for the item in Assistant, but those are the steps that worked for me.

I can activate the promo, but can’t get the code to apply. Tried two different accounts, same thing.

Think this works for everyone. This morning they were giving $10 credit to every $100, so spend $500 get $50 but looks like they fixed it.

Looks like they made it targeted also.

captainsave Are you buying on a Prime account? I just tried with a $100+ book again on a non-Prime account, and no luck: “The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.”

DP: Tried buying a $100 Safeway gift card, then a $240 textbook sold by Amazon.com, on two non-Prime accounts after downloading the Amazon Assistant. Promo code GET10PD was rejected on both accounts for both the gift card and the book. Tried paying both with an Amazon gc and with a credit card — made no difference.

Not sure whether this means that this offer is Prime only or that this is targeted for select Prime members.

It’s showing up in Amazon browser assistant for me (two browsers with two accounts) but the code won’t seem to apply in checkout. I haven’t seen anyone successfully use it yet.

Ok got the assistant download- how do I know if I’ve made a purchase thru it? is it as simple as finding an item I want on the green box,and clicking it,so it takes me to the amazon page to purchase?

This isn’t live yet, valid on July 15 and 16. But that should be the way it works at that time, using the assistant to assist you.

There’s always a lot of hate thrown at Amazon over the Prime Day deals, but I’ve never thought the real deal was the discounts on products, it’s all these credits that you can get from Amazon and in conjunction with the card issuers to buy the stuff you actually want.
