American Airlines Now Selling Flagship Lounge Access For $150

American Airlines is now selling flagship lounge access for $150 (children under the age of 2 are free). The passes will only be available for purchase in person and access will be limited (e.g they won’t sell passes if the lounge is nearing capacity). Can’t see many people actually purchasing these passes.

All of the AA promotions and changes (like this) make the situation over at AA look a lot more desperate than DL or UA.

Was at Charlotte recently and their lounge wouldn’t even sell one- day passes because of capacity issues (their lounge is kinda small).

That’s nice. CLT doesn’t have Flagship.

So this is for when you really want the bill for your customer or company for your travel expenses to hurt basically…

This news is moot for most of your readers because most of the flagship lounges aren’t even open.

According to this Points Guy writer, you won’t be able to use the Flagship First dining facility when purchasing a single-visit pass. https://thepointsguy.com/news/american-flagship-lounge-day-pass/

This is a huge dealbreaker. Am I supposed to pay $150 just for a hot shower before having to listen to children under the age of 2 bawl their lungs out before/during/after my flight?

The Admirals Clubs at hubs mostly have showers as well (although COVID has kept them closed), so you’re $150 provides even less value over a standard club visit.

If the only incremental benefit is “elevated” buffet-style meals, I’d rather take the $91 difference and treat myself to a restaurant before my flight.

The buffet at AA FLs is usually pretty decent and the booze is unlimited and of good quality. I almost never use their full service dining. The Admirals clubs on the other hand have virtually no food and no free booze.

Admirals clubs do have free booze. You have to ask at the bar. You do have to pay for top shelf brands.

Wow, that changed in 2010 apparently, just googled it. Thanks for letting me know, have not been to a domestic AC in ages. Luckily, I usually get to use a FL.

Already on their website. https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/clubs/flagship-lounge.jsp

$150 per person, per visit – doesn’t seem like a good deal. They specifically exclude guests for the single-visit passes.

It’s $150 for one time access? If that’s the case you’re better of spending that money somewhere else.

Admiral’s club already triggers the AMEX airline credit ($50 for a day pass). Since I have a ton of these credits and not much opportunity to fly this year, it would be interesting to know if the credit will work toward this $150. Knocking out my platinum airline credit on one trip is actually quite enticing.

But why not just reload travelbank like the rest of us?

This (for me). The only thing sillier than paying $150 to get into a lounge is letting the stupid Amex credits go unused…

Do the day passes expire? If so how long after the time of purchase? Also needing to use up Amex credit but don’t see using an AA lounge any time soon.

He says you have to purchase in-person and it is available only based on capacity. So I would think this means you have to use it immediately, not for future use.
