$300 ChatGPT Credit
The $300 ChatGPT credit for American Express Business Platinum and Business Gold cards are now live. Enrollment required in your login.

We discussed some of the details in the post last month, but I wanted to review here the possible strategies:
- Regular consumer ChatGPT Plus is $20 per month (no annual discount).
- Business ChatGPT has a minimum of two users. Either you can pay $20/month per user when billed annually or $25/month per user when billed monthly.
And so here are the various options:
-
- Pay $480 annual payment for two users and get $300 back. Net cost $180.
- Pay $50 per month and get 6 months for free. Then cancel.
- It’s been noted that this is a calendar year benefit. If you signup for ChatGPT Business in July, you’ll get 12 consecutive $50 credits – $300 for the current calendar year and $300 for the following calendar year.
- A person/couple who holds both the Business Platinum card and the Business Gold card can put Jan-June charges on one and then July-December charges on the other.
- Note: some readers mention getting hit with sales tax in their state. Seems to vary by state.
- Note: there might be some discount codes locking in the rate at $20 for monthly charges. I’m not aware of an active code, but you check around and see if you can find.

Our Verdict
This is a nice new benefit, especially for someone already paying for ChatGPT. Even someone paying for the consumer version should be able to switch over to the business version for the freebie.
Remember that the U.S. Bank Triple Cash $100 software credit has been working for ChatGPT. Someone with that card will have to factor that in when deciding their best option.
