American Express Airline Incidental Tracker Showing Negative Numbers (Glitch)

American Express cardholders are noticing their airline incidental tracker showing negative numbers on the personal Gold card, Platinum cards, and on the Hilton Aspire card. Instead of showing “$0” remaining, it may show “-$225”, for example.

The Gold card has a $100 airline benefit, the Platinum cards have a $200 benefit, and the Aspire card has a $250 benefit. Seems like (?) the negative amount is for 10% less than the amount used, so if you used $250 you’ll see -$225, and if you used $100 you’ll see -$90.

It’s doubtful that anything is going on here – presumably just a glitch – but worth pointing out since many people are noticing this and contacting Amex. There haven’t been any clawback charges on the actual statement, just the tracker is out of whack.

the issues with the credit still seem to be ongoing. I can log on one moment and it shows me as having used the airline credit for 2019, then I logon again again a few minutes later and it shows me as having the full $200. log on again later and it reverts back to the correct numbers. and so on, and so forth

Seems good now. I just upgraded to the aspire a few days ago and it showed $25 for me at the same time. Logged in today and its the full $250. Now to see how to get that credit before year end.

Under the Benefits tab (https://global.americanexpress.com/card-benefits/view-all?inav=MYCA_Benefits), it shows the Dining and Airline credits for me, Uber credits do not seem to show though.

This is why I’m ditching my platinum this year. Worse customer service and the rats

I have an aspire card, but had not used the credit yet.
It shows $25 instead of $250 available.

I got -$225 on my Aspire card, but since I just cancelled a roundtrip that was originally credited to my airline credit I was bugging! I’m sure the RATS will get me eventually, but not today my friends, not today..;)
