Oddly, it shouldn’t have cost much to provide as a vast majority of Marriott properties were Boingo hotspots – used it a few times internationally this past year. Perhaps it is redundant as SPG Silver Elites should get free internet at most Marriott properties (exceptions exist).

Domestically I rarely use a Hotel Wifi unless it conference room or a lower level with poor cell reception. IIRC it was never an option to use in-flight like some of the GOGO passes.

I could never get boingo to work correctly on iOS. Not going to miss this benefit. Also though, free wifi and more forgiving international roaming plans are a little more ubiquitous than they were when this benefit was added. Not going to miss it.

One of the few benefits I use on a regular basis… cancel time.

As much as I’m not a fan of Chase, this move by Amex frees me up to go for their cards as it’ll be two year since I got the SPG card bonuses.

A benefit that I always told myself would be good to have but have literally NEVER used

Same, I’ve never had a reason to use it. Most of the time I’m either on cellular or lounge wifi. If I absolutely have to use terminal wifi, it’s usually for something where the free tier is more than good enough (e.g. sometimes at LAX the cellular connection will be sketchy coming off the jetbridge so I’ll connect to terminal wifi so I can get an Uber/Lyft ASAP).

None of the Marriott cards are worth keeping longer than a year.

This was the dealbreaker. Not anymore

Boingo never worked for me anyway on international trips, not even at airports. Maybe I didn’t know how to use it, do not miss at all.

Not much of a notice. So they jack up the AF $30 and provide less.
John the original Starwood card had Boingo (not open for new customers).

Does anyone remember other Amex cards have this as a benefit?

To my knowledge the business platinum is the last Amex card standing with Boingo. Personal plat and now bonvoy biz losing it

Yet another reason to cancel this one when the increased AF hits
