[Expired] Amex Offers: $10 off $50 at Lowe’s [Targeted]

This deal has expired and is unfortunately no longer available. Never miss another deal again by signing up for free and instant notifications of new posts.

The Offer

Check your Amex logins for a Lowe’s offer:

  • Get $10 off a $50+ purchase at Lowe’s or Lowes.com

The Fine Print

  • Valid 12/1/17 – 12/31/17
  • $50 threshold can be met in a single transaction or across multiple transactions
  • Valid at any participating location in the US
  • Not valid for e-gift card purchases. Excludes corporate gift card purchases.
  • Excludes ATGstores.com, Lowe’s Zone, Custom Blinds and Shades, Porch, Resolve, The Mine, and Orchard Supply Hardware

Our Verdict

Seems like it’s only available in the login, not on Twitter. Lowe’s is always a popular merchant, especially since they sell third-party gift cards in-store which makes this a good deal for anyone. You can buy Amazon gift cards, eBay, gas, restaurants, and in some places Visa. I wrote about my experience using this offer in a previous rendition.

You can split-tender a purchase at Lowe’s with at least a few cards based on past experience. Self-checkout theoretically works but will require the rep to come over and assist, no gain.

If you’re using this offer organically, don’t forget to stack with 11% off at Lowe’s via coupon.

Pretty sure the answer is yes, but has anyone made a B&M purchase on the final day of an amex offer deal and had the credit post? Thinking about running by Lowe’s on 12/31 (don’t have time before then).

Oh no. I had offer in 4 of my cards but I didn’t have time to do multitab at work and then work caught on. Just got a chance to check back today. None of the cards now have offer anymore. 🙁

Usually American Express doesn’t target by card type like that, they use other qualifiers.

There is probably a bit of targeting here, but will take readers who get targeting to share. Three big general dimensions I think are biz/personal, consumer/premium cards, and primary/AU cards.

I’ve never bought anything at Lowes on an Amex since my first card in 2013.
I rarely buy gas from gas stations, but at some point have got it at Exxon (almost always at Sam’s Club, and use <$100 monthly in gas)

I got the following offers:

Lowes (presumably non-premium cards, for people who've never shopped at Lowes will get your targeted)
BCP (2 copies)
SPG
Green

Exxon (seems to target MR personal cards, spending also might be a factor):
Plat
Plat Schwab
Gold Ameriprise
Green

Neither offers:
Biz SPG
Blue Cash Biz
Bluebird

We talk about how American Express targets here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/how-does-american-express-decide-who-receives-what-amex-sync-offer/

Outside of business/personal card type is very rarely used.

Sad. I’m 0/4 and mom is 0/2. I’ve been hoping for Lowe’s and really hoping for the Sam’s deal that showed up last year on the Starwood business cards.

Just bought visa gift card and have it split, but the cashier asked for my ID. She said it’s a new rule that just started from this Christmas season because of the shady gift card things. Not sure she means all kinds of gift cards or just VGC..

I’m pretty sure about why they’re asking. Went into Target to buy GC’S when Discover it 5% Q4 began. The CC companies are currently messing their proverbial pant, and maybe their actual ones, over the Equifax breech. Also, there is a scam going on involving GC’S. They call and try to scare people into buying V & MGC’ s, and calling them back to read the numbers,so they can “protect” you or your loved ones from a horrible fait… ex. owing $ to the IRS. Many people are gullible enough to believe them. Beware! One of my favorite quotes is the following, ” Evil exists in many forms… it is most despicable, however, when it inflicts it’s damage while wearing a mask of virtue” Who am I quoting? That would be me. Love in Christ.

4/13. No where near as common as last year or they haven’t been rolled out to everyone yet. After the Google Express promo rolled out, I checked yesterday and had it on a few more cards. I wish it would just roll out together.

Is this targeted to to folks in states where lowes has the 11% rebate going as well?. If so, it may makes sense, as Lowe’s may be doing it to increase activity in those areas.
