For some time Barclays has not been charging the annual fee for business cards on time or at all. Barclays has now sent out letters to affected cardholders informing them of this issue and also stating that they will be charged for the annual fee in their next billing period.
Barclays annual fee refund rule is that you can cancel the card within 60 days of it posting to your account and get the full fee refunded. I wasn’t sure if this rule would apply when the annual fee was incorrectly not charged but it seems that it does.
Hat tip to TwG
I canceled (via automated phone system) a week after the annual fee posted, and it was automatically refunded
Does anyone know what would happen to ‘free checked bag’ on a flight booked with jetblue points while holding the business card, but taken after cancelling the card?
You lose it, just as you gain it if you book a ticket and then get the card.
Question: I know that normally the annual fee refund is 30 days for Chase cards. Do any other issuers have extended cancellation timelines for their cards?
Best to check the card specific pages on “XX things you should know about [Card Issuer]”

Thank you! This was exactly what I was looking for.
I can confirm that this was my experience. I had jumped in on the 100K JetBlue in Nov 2020 and just got charged the AF in the last few weeks. Called Saturday to cancel, did not need to talk to a human (always a benefit, especially if I open a card for P2), and the $99 AF shows as dropped-off my account as of this morning.
Exactly the info I was looking for. Thank you for posting this.
Can confirm, AF posted 6 mths late. Canceled and AF credited one day later.
Cancelled when AF posted three months late on May 1 with no issues
depends on cards, some might be good to keep
