[Expired] Bed Bath & Beyond: Purchase $100 In Third Party Giftcards & Get $15 Rebate (12/14/19-12/24/19)

Deal has expired, view more Bed Bath & Beyond deals by clicking here.

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Purchase a $100 third party gift card at Bed Bath & Beyond and receive a $15 Bed Bath & Beyond gift card when you complete the rebate form.

The Fine Print

  • Limit 1 submission per household, in previous years you could do it  at Harmon & Buybuy baby as well
  • Valid 12/14/19-12/24/19

Our Verdict

They offered  a similar deal last year, but no limit was listed (limit was actually 10 in the end). This deal isn’t nearly as interesting due to the limit of 1 unfortunately. Can be stacked with the 10-15% back with Chase/BofA for the first two days as well.

Does BBB sell BP GCs?

RM
RM

SOZ I’ve seen Shell in some markets (for example, Chicagoland). I’ve never seen BP.

SOZ
SOZ

Shell is my 2nd choice.

Does it have to be 1 gift card worth at least $100 or can it be multiple gift cards that total $100 or more? (ie, like 2 $50 gift cards). I only ask since most of the 3rd party gift cards they sell are only $50 or $25.

RM
RM

Jack Jones In prior years, multiple gift cards on the same receipt worked fine. It has to be that way because almost all of their third party cards are under $100.

Any 3P cards is an interesting development. 2 steps back, 1 step forward? Based on the community’s experience last year, it’s probably a 50/50 YMMV if you ever see the rebate. I had to follow up at least twice. What a PIA.

Joe
Joe

Even after following up twice I was unable to get several of the $25 GCs I was owed from the MCGC deal. I still have some shopping to do at BBB so I’ll be trying this again, but I would not recommend that anyone change their spending patterns based on this rebate.

Nightmare of a rebate process last year. Make sure you keep everything until the rebate is in your hands.

Tall T

I submitted 2 and both were rejected. Not sure if I’ll try this year.

Celia
Celia

I did get both rebates after rejection and resubmission but it wasn’t easy.

Joe
Joe

Good point. Last year they told us we didn’t have to keep the receipts and then demanded that we send them in for most rebates.

RM

Celia Looks like it will be worse this year. When I sent them an e-mail asking to clarify the terms of the offer, I got one back stating that rebate offer number 19-89503 — the number indicated on the PDF form as corresponding to the gift card rebate — is listed in their system as “Purchase a Ayesha Curry 11pc Set at Bed Bath & Beyond to Receive a $30 mail in rebate” (i.e the one listed on the PDF as number 19-87262).

In other words, the promotion has not even started yet, and it’s already FUBAR on their end. Oy.

Celia
Celia

OMG, that stinks. I’m sort of glad I decided not to do it this year, guess I’m sticking with that decision.

RB

Does that mean anyone who bought is screwed? I already went ahead and bought the gift card today. Now not sure how to claim the rebate.

Will Chase Freedom or Citi Dividend cards code purchases under Department Stores category to earn 5% cashback if used at Bed, Bath & Beyond?

Celia
Celia

No. I was hoping iChase Freedom would count toward department stores but it did not. On the plus side, it was the quickest chase offer ever paid out. Shopped 11/28, offer credit posted 12/2.

Thanks!

Just use Chase Pay linked to Samsung Pay and you get 5% everywhere this quarter. Triple stack!

Celia
Celia

you have to have samsung pay for that to work 🙂

Thanks! Will give it a try.

1 submission per household… sad.

Darn. I should have waited to spend the Happy Her cards that I bought during the Office Depot sale last week. I used my Happy Her cards to buy Disney gift cards at BB&B.

SOZ
SOZ

Happy Her cards can be used to buy any 3rd party cards @BBB?

Gerald
Gerald

Depends on the store or cashier.

Joe
Joe

The wording on the Happy cards was recently changed to explicitly include: “Cannot be used to purchase gift cards”. Please proceed with caution if you decide to try this for yourself.

Lots of older ones on the racks at my grocery. They don’t have the covered card number though, fwiw.

Can you buy a 3rd party gift card with a BB&B gift card?

RM

I spoke to a supervisor at BBB Rebates regarding the terms of this offer. He told me that it is different from the past two years in the sense that there is an absolute limit of $15 per household no matter how much over $100 you buy. He said that he tried entering $200 or $300 into their system and it still came up with a $15 rebate. In other words, you would not get $30 for buying $200, $45 for buying $300 etc., as you did in the past two years.

Now, we have gotten incorrect information from BBB’s rebate processor before, so I would take this with a grain of salt — but he seemed very sure.

Planned to shop there anyways with my 15% Chase offer. Will be buying a vgc. So rolling the dice that bbb keeps their end. Definitely will make copies of what I send and hold onto them until rebate received.

DL
DL

Cant buy a vgc. Must be a 3pgc for this rebate

Lily
Lily

Well, i bought a vgc today and a rebate receipt was printed out following the regular receipt, so i would think it is included. But ofcourse BBB can decide not to honor if they chose to.

So that page says you can submit online. But when I look at the current promotions online this offer isn’t even showing up. But it’s clearly in the printable version. Based on my conversation below with their chat customer service I am going to pass on this one, at least until it shows up online.

I asked why the rebate is not in the online submission list and was told
“the promotion is currently in a Pending status which usually means there was an error with the offer so Bed Bath & Beyond stopped it to prevent a widespread issue. For now the rebate cannot be submitted.”

I asked if the mail in version will be honored and was told
“It will not, the promotion is pending. You will need to wait.”

Waaaaay too much hassle trying to get them to honor it last year. Never again for me
