Bed Bath & Beyond: Purchase $100 In Third Party Giftcards & Get $15 Rebate (12/14/19-12/24/19)

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Purchase a $100 third party gift card at Bed Bath & Beyond and receive a $15 Bed Bath & Beyond gift card when you complete the rebate form.

The Fine Print

  • Limit 1 submission per household, in previous years you could do it  at Harmon & Buybuy baby as well
  • Valid 12/14/19-12/24/19

Our Verdict

They offered  a similar deal last year, but no limit was listed (limit was actually 10 in the end). This deal isn’t nearly as interesting due to the limit of 1 unfortunately. Can be stacked with the 10-15% back with Chase/BofA for the first two days as well.

Does BBB sell BP GCs?

RM
RM

SOZ I’ve seen Shell in some markets (for example, Chicagoland). I’ve never seen BP.

Shell is my 2nd choice.

Does it have to be 1 gift card worth at least $100 or can it be multiple gift cards that total $100 or more? (ie, like 2 $50 gift cards). I only ask since most of the 3rd party gift cards they sell are only $50 or $25.

Jack Jones In prior years, multiple gift cards on the same receipt worked fine. It has to be that way because almost all of their third party cards are under $100.

Any 3P cards is an interesting development. 2 steps back, 1 step forward? Based on the community’s experience last year, it’s probably a 50/50 YMMV if you ever see the rebate. I had to follow up at least twice. What a PIA.

Even after following up twice I was unable to get several of the $25 GCs I was owed from the MCGC deal. I still have some shopping to do at BBB so I’ll be trying this again, but I would not recommend that anyone change their spending patterns based on this rebate.

Nightmare of a rebate process last year. Make sure you keep everything until the rebate is in your hands.

I submitted 2 and both were rejected. Not sure if I’ll try this year.

I did get both rebates after rejection and resubmission but it wasn’t easy.

Good point. Last year they told us we didn’t have to keep the receipts and then demanded that we send them in for most rebates.

Will Chase Freedom or Citi Dividend cards code purchases under Department Stores category to earn 5% cashback if used at Bed, Bath & Beyond?

Celia
Celia

No. I was hoping iChase Freedom would count toward department stores but it did not. On the plus side, it was the quickest chase offer ever paid out. Shopped 11/28, offer credit posted 12/2.

1 submission per household… sad.

Darn. I should have waited to spend the Happy Her cards that I bought during the Office Depot sale last week. I used my Happy Her cards to buy Disney gift cards at BB&B.

Happy Her cards can be used to buy any 3rd party cards @BBB?

Gerald
Gerald

Depends on the store or cashier.

Joe
Joe

The wording on the Happy cards was recently changed to explicitly include: “Cannot be used to purchase gift cards”. Please proceed with caution if you decide to try this for yourself.

Are Visa/MC gift cards eligible?

They were in previous years.

Can you buy a 3rd party gift card with a BB&B gift card?

I spoke to a supervisor at BBB Rebates regarding the terms of this offer. He told me that it is different from the past two years in the sense that there is an absolute limit of $15 per household no matter how much over $100 you buy. He said that he tried entering $200 or $300 into their system and it still came up with a $15 rebate. In other words, you would not get $30 for buying $200, $45 for buying $300 etc., as you did in the past two years.

Now, we have gotten incorrect information from BBB’s rebate processor before, so I would take this with a grain of salt — but he seemed very sure.
