I just checked my Bluebird balance this morning and saw a $30 bonus in there. I had no idea where it came from, so I did a search and it brought me to here. I had a Federal Tax Refund on April 22nd, so I guess it takes almost a week to get the bonus.

I just checked my bluebird account for the hell of it and the 30 was in there as an account bonus… since March 14th! Lol
Today is April 11th btw…

My tax refund hit bluebird today, no bonus. Not sure if it usually posts immediately. My guess it won’t post at all since it looks like they killed this offer.

Yup, showed up after a week. Looks like offer valid. Great tip to whoever mentioned to split refund up over 3 accounts.

Edit: the bonus only hit one of three BB accts. Possible they limit the bonus to one per ssn

Hi @guest_1364644 are you saying even though you filed after the banner was taken down you received the bonus? Thanks

You can find the terms at the bottom of tax faqs:

https://www.serve.com/faqs/tax-refunds

“To receive a $30 Account credit in your Serve Account, you must successfully receive a qualifying Direct Deposit of a Federal Tax Refund into your Serve Account between January 1 and April 30, 2022, 11:59PM ET. A qualifying Direct Deposit is defined as a Federal Tax Refund Direct Deposit into your Serve Account. Transfers and loads from other funding sources (including a payroll or government benefit Direct Deposit or via Receive Money, debit card, cash, bank account) are not considered qualifying Direct Deposits. Account credit will be posted within thirty (30) days of your qualified Direct Deposit as defined here in these terms. Limit one (1) $30 credit per customer. Offer subject to change or cancellation at any time.”

Anyone know of any other banks/credit unions that offer bonuses for direct depositing a state tax refund? I know that One Finance has a $50 raffle and Go2Bank has a $1000 raffle. Or does a direct deposit bonus usually include state tax refunds?

The banner was there about a week ago. Disappeared though. Wonder if they pulled the offer?

If my tax accountant already filed my return with the IRS like a week ago, is there a way to manually still change part of my refund to this?
Don’t want to bother him for the small bonus, but would do it myself if easily done…
(Currently I’m set to receive 5k back in Treasury paper bonds, and the rest back to one of my regular bank accounts)

No. DD info cannot be changed after a return is filed.

DP: Got $30 credit 6 days after receiving the Federal Tax Refund Direct Deposit on my BB Visa (“checking account”). I opened the BB just in November 2021, not much prepaid GC load activities so far, so I didn’t think there was much of a risk of a shutdown mid-refund.

Hmmm…I don’t see the banners anymore either. Tried four different browsers. Strange, since the terms said the promo went until 4/30 and tax season’s hardly over. Looking at the “tax refund” page on Serve, there is a disembodied footnote describing the terms of the deal that clings to life: https://www.serve.com/tax-refund/

Hopefully this comes back, I was looking forward to that $30-$60 :/
