I thought i recall it saying before that you just need a VPN to activate, now its saying you need a brazil account
So does this still work even though it says you need a brazil account?
I just did this today and you do not need a Brazilian account. Simply make sure you are using a VPN connected to Brazil before opening your browser and logging in the xbox web site. After that just find the appropriate place to redeem codes and you’re good to go. Confirmed working 12/11/20
Edit: Make sure you are doing all of this on your PC or Mac and not your Xbox.

Xbox HQ: we have had a sudden rise of interest in Brazil
Holy Shit! I just did this and got Gamepass for 3 years. Can’t believe how much I’ll be able to save on games for the next few years. Here are the steps I followed:
1) Bought 3 12-months Brazil Xbox live codes
2) Logged into my Nord VPN account and connected to Brazil. Redeemed codes at redeem.microsoft.com. Make sure to turn off the option to auto-renew for an extra month
3) Created a new account on my Xbox and signed up for the 1 month discounted price of $1. This part was the most confusing for me since the UI said 1 month only, but once you go through the process the fine print says your subscription would actually be extended to the length of your Xbox live subscription, up to a maximum of 36 months
Hi Ankit, I too activated the live gold codes using VPN. But now unable to activate the upgrade to ultimate subscription as microsoft website mentions country code error while trying to upgrade. Could you please help me with detailed steps to get this activated? Thanks in advance bro. Regards, Deep
From the steps you provided, it sounds like you can’t use this on your current XBOX Live account, correct?
Am I missing something? Wouldn’t everything linked to your current account not be available in your new one that you need to create for this offer?
You can use it on your existing account but they made a new one to explicitly get the $1 new user offer again, alternatively you have to pay $15 to do the upgrade.
Never heard VPN till today, used link bought one code for 25.09, then bought free trial of express vpn for 99.95(fully refundable within 30 days), download the VPN and activate it on my desktop, then from within the VPN, i typed redeem.microsoft.com and log in to Microsoft and type the Xbox code, then loaded it up for 12 month. I clicked the not renew automatically since i don’t want to add a credit card there today. Verified my Xbox account good till 5/6/2021. Overall it went well and l learnt VPN.

get the extra month for auto-renewal, then just turn it off.
Bought 3x used VPN. Then I converted all 36 months to the Ultimate Game Pass for $1. Not too shabby of a deal. This was about 2 weeks ago when it was $27 for the year.
Need VPN to activate it.
