The Offer
- Open a new Centier checking account at their new Schererville (IN) Strack & Van Til location, add a direct deposit of at least $500 and receive a $200 sign up bonus
The Fine Print
- Offer is not available to existing Centier Checking clients.
- A minimum direct deposit of $500 or more must be received within 60 days of account opening to receive the $200.
- Limit one $200 bonus per household.
- Offer good on Centier Checking, 50 Advantage and Interest Checking accounts only.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
I wasn’t able to find their fee schedule so I am unsure if they charge an early account termination fee or not. There are three accounts you can open for this offer: Centier Checking, 50 Advantage & Interest Checking. Centier & 50 are the easiest to keep fee free:
Centier & 50 Advantage – $2 Monthly Fee
$2 fee is waived if you do any of the following:
- Opt for eStatements
- Receive a direct deposit
- Have a minimum daily balance of $100
Our Verdict
Nice big bonus with easy to meet requirements, having to open in branch sucks though. On the bright side you’ll be able to find out if it’s a hard or soft credit pull to open before you sign up for an account. If anybody signs up, please let us know in the comments. In the mean time I’d recommend looking at our page with the best deposit account sign up bonuses currently available.
