The Offer
- Open a new BE GREEN checking account with First GREEN Bank and receive $20 per month in Mellow Bucks when you do the following:
- Set up a monthly direct deposit of at least $1,000
Mellow Mushroom/Mellow Bucks Information
The customer will receive and may use $20 in “Mellow Bucks” per month for the 12-month period as long as the Direct Deposit is made into the new account as stated above each month. The “Mellow Bucks” card can only be used once a month whether the full $20 is used or not. The “Mellow Bucks” can be used for any menu item, excluding alcohol, at any participating Mellow Mushroom in Central Florida. Participating locations include Mount Dora, Winter Park, Orlando, and Orlando-International Drive.
The Fine Print
- Rewards are for the first twelve months only
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
The BE GREEN checking account doesn’t have any monthly fees. I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule, so I’m unsure if there is any early account termination fee or not.
Our Verdict
Having to do a $1,000 direct deposit monthly isn’t great, if it was a cash bonus I wouldn’t mind so much but not sure it’s worth the effort for $20 in pizza – although that’s really up to you to decide. If anybody has any experience with this bank, please share in the comments. We won’t add it to our best checking sign up bonus page (found here) until we have some more information about the bank (e.g soft/hard pull).
