Our Verdict

Most people will have signed up for the waitlist offer, so I’d recommend waiting for that to go live before applying as it’s got an extra bonus. Basically details that were rumored are correct. It’s interesting that they are offering certificates like this rather than a just miles bonus.

Hopefully they’ll replace this terrible offer with something normal.

Those certificates are not points so they’re pretty much almost worthless

The Canada-US aeroplan are really good. 6k miles one way across the border if you are flexible with dates.

Also seen 70k business one way from europe. Not bad considering no fuel surcharges.

Good luck finding 70K to/from Europe in business. Just tested about 20 plus options and the only one found at 70 was with very long layover. All the rest required significantly higher miles. Basically that reward chart shows the minimum of miles, and not the max.

it’s just the star alliance award inventory

if you can find it on United it will be available on Aeroplan

I see SFO to CDG on Swiss for 85k which is fine I guess especially with Cap 1 Venture X

Dumb question, just making sure — so we can use the Aeroplan certificates for travel on any Star Alliance partner, like United? If so, I can use these Aeroplan certificates for any United route, not just Air Canada routes?

Has anyone had any trouble getting Chase to honor the waitlist offer? Chase CSRs have been insistent the offer doesn’t exist

Is this card recommended for someone under 5/24? Not familiar with Aeroplan.

As it states above “ Travel certificates don’t expire as long as your account is open”.

Replying to everyone talking about the vouchers – I received mine… The e-mail came maybe 1.5 weeks after receiving them in my account. I only got the card at the end of Feb so they came pretty quick, right after the statement close where I completed MSR. Check the Aeroplan website- log in and pull up the menu that is next to your name, click “My Aeroplan” then click “Benefits” you should see them there

Got my certificates today. Signed up online Feb 15. Chase personal and business customer. FICO mid-700s. 3/24. Instant approval with CL $7,000. Met spending requirements in late April. Statement date May 14. Received e-mail on May 19 that I’ve earned my certificates. The certificates now show in the Benefits section of my Air Canada’s Aeroplan Account.

Has anyone received the 2 x 50k vouchers yet? Statement just closed after hitting the $4k spend and I don’t see any mention of the 50k bonus vouchers on the Chase statement.

Not yet. My statement date is Mar 5th and I have spent 4k by Mar 1st. The chase email says I have earned two certificates several days ago but I can’t find it on my aeroplan account. What’s more odd, the points earned on statement on Mar 5th has not posted on my Aeroplan account yet. Quite annoying.

Same situation, but I never even got the confirmation email about the 2 certificates.
1st statement closed 2/9/22 and I see 3,7XX miles posted to Aeroplan on 2/9/22.
2nd statement closed 3/9/22, and I still don’t see the remaining ~700 miles from spend on Aeroplan account yet, even though the Chase statement lists those as transferred to Aeroplan already…..

Odd.

Nothing here, statement just closed April 1. NOt even sure how this posts, there’s a “flight pass” drop down area on the aircanada website but I’ve got nothing there as well. I think they have a very buggy system with this card
