Chase Mistakenly Sets Payment Due Date For Cardholders As 8/27 – Now Past Due

There are reports of a widespread issue at Chase with people stating it shows their credit card payment is late when it’s not. For whatever reason it seems that some customers have had their payment date set as August 27th and are now showing as past due. Chase customer service representatives have confirmed this issue and stated that they are working on fixing it, but provided no timeline on when it will be fixed. You can find some people reporting this issue on both Twitter & Reddit.

I noticed this last night on Amazon Prime Card, had a minor freak-out,

I forget I had already paid my statement balance in full more than a week earlier, went to quickly pay, saw that automatic payments was showing active. Took screenshots of (Auto pay/payment deducted from Chase Checking)- went to bed.

Late payment not showing this morning.

*Odd though – JPMC usually reports balance payoffs to CRB within 24 hours, wasn’t showing this time on CK, WH, etc

5/24
*Have had the Amazon Prime card for years, so it has no impact on my 5/24 and we use it for our Sub/Save purchases for reoccurring items, during COVID we moved a lot of purchases from Costco to Prime, think this actually saves us money, we still make the occasional trip to Costco.

This affected me too and before reading this blog, I sent off a secure email to Chase saying that I already made payment and blah blah. No response yet.

I had the same issue with my Barclays card. I have the Wyndham business card, payment due date of 8/20 and payment received in full on 8/13. I called to complain and they said a system update caused it but couldn’t clarify what that would be.

I had an issue as well. Payment completed online on 8/11 – due date 8/16. Never posted and was hit with late fee’s and interest. Secondary payment finally posted 8/27. A phone call reversed those charges. Another issue I have is they only awarded me 8 points for $4700 in spend. That phone call did not go well as the rep suggested I call Wyndham to get my points.

Tell him you’ll be calling Wyndham to close the card
