[Expired] Chase Pay: 10x/10% Points At Walmart.com On Up To $325

This deal has expired, click here to sign up for notifications to never miss another deal.

The Offer

Direct links to offer: Chase Sapphire Reserve | Chase Freedom | Chase Freedom Unlimited | Chase Sapphire Preferred (no link, anybody find one?) | Chase Sapphire

  • Chase Pay is offering 10x points per $1 spent on up to $325 in purchases on Walmart. Valid until December 14th, 2017.

The Fine Print

These terms are for the Chase Sapphire Reserve offer:

  • During the promotional period of November 15, 2017 to December 14, 2017, earn an extra 9 points on up to $325 in purchases at Walmart.com when you check out with your Chase Sapphire card using Chase Pay.
  • The bonus points earned is in addition to the 1 point you earn on purchases at Walmart.com for a total of 10 points. Bonus points will post to your account within a week of the transaction posting, and will appear on your monthly credit card billing statement and be available for use within 1-2 billing cycles.
  • Purchases posted to your account with a transaction date during the offer period are eligible for this offer. Delays by the merchant, such as shipping, could extend the transaction date beyond the offer period.
  • To qualify for this promotional offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment.
  • This promotional offer is non-transferable.
  • For more information about your rewards program, see your Rewards Program Agreement.

For Chase Freedom:

  • Earn 5%: On up to $1,500 in combined purchases in this quarter’s bonus categories (Walmart and Department Store purchases).
  • Earn an extra 5%: When you check out on Walmart.com with Chase Pay from 11/15–12/14. This offer applies to a total of $325 in purchases.

If you do not activate your Freedom bonus categories or if you have already made $1,500 in combined purchases at Walmart and Department Stores this quarter, or if you reach the $1,500 spend in the quarterly bonus categories during the promotional period, you will only earn 6% cash back on up to $325 in purchases when you check out with Chase Pay on Walmart.com during the offer period.

Our Verdict

Keep in mind it’s a total of 10x points/10%, so for example on the Chase Freedom you earn the 5% due to Walmart being a 5% rotating category and then a bonus 5%. The fine print also states that the promotional is non-transferable, but all Chase Ultimate Rewards personal cardholders are eligible. Despite there being no Chase Sapphire Preferred link this is working for those cardholders. They offered a similar deal before as well. Walmart loves to cancel gift card orders, so keep that in mind. You can read some tips for avoiding those cancellations here. Don’t forget to go through a shopping portal as well, the current best rate is 6% cash back.

Are you sure it won’t stack to 14 points with CF?

What about UR cashback portal?

Rene
Rene

Yes, it’s stated pretty clearly.

Eric
Eric

I disagree that it’s stated clearly here. Dan certainly has a point but if you go to the website it is clear that you’ll earn UP TO 10%.

The issue is that Will has the terms copied wrong somehow.

On Walmart’s site it shows “During the promotional period of November 15, 2017 to December 14, 2017, earn an extra 5%”.

Will has “During the promotional period of November 15, 2017 to December 14, 2017, earn an extra 9 points”.

Rene

Yes, I was referring to the linked terms. The terms in the post are obviously copied and pasted from the last promo, but would you type a full entry if for a recurring promo? I wouldn’t.

I am totally on board with asking questions that are not obvious when following a linked promo. I really don’t want to be the ‘let me google this for you guy’, but just clicking on the link shows the terms in tall and bright letters.

There might be reasons why Dan didn’t click the link. I clarified. No hard feelings. 😛

Eric
Eric

That’s incorrect. This is not the same offer as the last one (see my comment below).

The only issue I have is that Will didn’t state that the T&C were for the Sapphire only.

I can certainly see why Dan was confused.

Eric
Eric

I take that back.

Will clearly wrote “These terms are for the Chase Sapphire Reserve offer:”

I missed that so it’s not big deal that Dan missed something earlier.

Rene
Rene

Oh, I was wrong. Terms are just the non-freedom terms. Duh.

Anyhow, you get my point.

Eric
Eric

That should be “no” instead of “not”.

Now my only issue is that we can’t edit our comments.

Eric
Eric

Rene,

We all ended up being wrong on something. Definitely no hard feelings.

Will,

Thanks for telling me.

I thought I was going completely crazy. I’m glad to know I am only somewhat crazy.

Rene

This is not about Dan’s Question: there might be reasons why he didn’t follow the link. I clarified. All good.

You seemed to imply that it’s too much to ask to follow a link. I disagree with this attitude. No need to inflate this. All good.

(I noticed that I was wrong about copy and paste. I assumed it was since it’s the same promo (+9 points) — just different period and max.)

Eric
Eric

No, I think we had a misunderstanding. I agree that It is very annoying if people are too lazy to follow a link.

I think the entire problem occurred because only 1 T&C was shown here when there are actually multiple offers (ie 9% extra for Sapphire and 5% extra for Freedom).

Will explained it properly in the “Our Verdict” but wasn’t as clear in the previous sections.

I think we are mostly in agreement. Correct?

Eric
Eric

I see what the issue is. Will copied the terms from the Chase Sapphire offer only. Since that doesn’t have 5% categories it is an extra 9%.

The terms for the Freedom are what I copy and pasted.

So if you have all three, can you do 10x on $975? I guess that would be the question.

Rene
Rene

Yes, that worked in the past.

Is it possible to combine it with shop through Chase? If yes, it would be extra 2 pts/ dollar

Cool offer, would buying walmart Egift card trigger this? any restrictions?

Rene
Rene

this worked in the past for me. many others had issues with GC cancellations though. from personal experience, physical gift cards are more annoying to deal with but seem less likely to get canceled.

Also, if this is your first time ordering something from walmart.com, you’re more likely to get your order cancelled.

Any way to use this in store like the Best Buy offer?

seems like the prudent thing to do would be to max out your $1500 cap for the 5x points on freedom and then try this.

I know you mentioned it in the post but it might be helpful to add this since it explains what happens if you’ve already maxed out your $1500 quarterly bonus on the Freedom:

• Earn 5%: On up to $1,500 in combined purchases in this quarter’s bonus categories (Walmart and Department Store purchases).

• Earn an extra 5%: When you check out on Walmart.com with Chase Pay from 11/15–12/14. This offer applies to a total of $325 in purchases.

If you do not activate your Freedom bonus categories or if you have already made $1,500 in combined purchases at Walmart and Department Stores this quarter, or if you reach the $1,500 spend in the quarterly bonus categories during the promotional period, you will only earn 6% cash back on up to $325 in purchases when you check out with Chase Pay on Walmart.com during the offer period.4

For Freedom, just remove the “unlimited” from the URL.

So this should work on a physical vgc order?

Can this 10x points Chase pay reward only available online at Walmart.com? Then what about Walmart local store? Could Chase Pay in Walmart local store also trigger the 10 points reward bonus?

Hello World
Hello World

Unforturnately, the walmart stores that I tried so far in WA does not support Chase Pay.

Maybe because too many CSP came from the fairmont so they exclude it this time? But they can pc easily which make no sense.
