Okay, this is the third and final ‘March 12’ post for the day. 🙂 First two can be found here.
The Offer
As has been previously reported, the 100k Chase Sapphire Reserve bonus will no longer be available in Chase branches after March 11. Starting March 12, the branch offer will align with the online offer at 50,000 points.
Chase is sending out to their bankers a small piece of good news that Chase Private Clients will get a slightly higher bonus on the Sapphire Reserve card of 60,000 point beginning March 12.

Another small change mentioned is that the cards will no longer say ‘Private Client’ on them to support privacy.

Our Verdict
Currently, the in-branch signup bonus on the Sapphire Reserve card is 100,000 points, so this 60k offer is a bad deal. It will only be a good deal starting March 12 when the standard offer will be 50k. Again, if you are eligible for the card you should be applying now in-branch for the 100k and not waiting for the 60k offer, even if you are a Private Client.
Chase Private Client no longer works to get around 5/24; this 60k offer will only work if you are under 5/24 or if you get preapproved. (Note, preapprovals are currently down for CSR but they’ll likely come back sometime after March 12 when the bonus gets lowered.)
Recap
To recap, there are primarily four changes taking place on March 12:
- CSR branch offer goes down from 100k to 50k for most people and to 60k for Private Clients
- CSR pre-approvals will hopefully come backÂ
- INK Preferred goes up to 100k in branch but has an annual fee
- INK Cash goes up to $500 in branch
