A lot of people were noticing points missing on their SPG business card at the beginning of April, and people worried there was some sort of crack down coming (we mentioned the issue briefly in this post). It ended up being a technical issue, and transactions since April 7th are coming through properly.
However, in the effected timeframe of March 30 through April 6, some transactions on the SPG business card are still not being credited properly, irrelevant as to where the purchases took place. The issue was initially seen on the Amex transaction beta page, and now people are continuing to see the issue even as statements close.
Worth checking that your points came through properly and opening a ticket if they haven’t. Wait for your statement to close before opening a ticket since they probably won’t take it seriously before then. Could also be that waiting another few weeks will work as the Amex gods learn about the problem and hopefully fix it system-wide eventually.

Update: Seems like this issue may be affecting some Hilton cards as well. And Amex has said in a reply via Twitter that they are working on getting a fix for this, so it might be worth just waiting this one out.

If anyone get points, please update here. Both Amex and Hilton said that they are working on it but they have no ETA. Someone on flytalk.com forum has been waiting for referral points since Nov, 2017.
I looked yesterday and found that I was missing over 4800 points from this glitch. I called in and after they reviewed everything they were posting 4900 points to my account, to be posted with the pending points already there.
Did it post? One Amex rep told me my bonus 25000 points would post in 3 business days and the other rep said next statement but no they both lied.

Update: I finally got 25,000 referral points this week. I’ve been contacting Amex since February. It took 5 months.
My 25000 Hilton points for a referral in Feb, 2018 are still missing and I’ve contacted Amex at least 5 times and they keep saying different things. 25000 bonus points does show up in my Feb 2018 Amex Aspire statement but it hasn’t been transferred to Hilton. All other points from card purchases were transferred fine.
@Steve I have the same problem, 2 (20.000) referral points from January, Amex ascend card are still missing. Very weird, amex says they transferred them to Hilton Honors, and indeed they appear on the amex statement, but they never got to my hilton honors account. I thought I was the only one having this weird issue. Opened tickets with both amex and Hilton Honors, both came back negative, blaming the other side. Don’t know what to do anymore. Any suggestion Chuck?

Update: I finally got 25,000 referral points this week after contacting Amex again this Monday. I’ve been contacting Amex since February. It took 5 months.
Just wanted to add that I had the same problem on by Delta Business Platinum
DP: This bug appears to affect even more cards. My SimplyCash+ is missing points both from an OD purchase and an unrelated 1% charge at another vendor. All transactions after that week earned points correctly, and yes that includes several OD at 5%.
This happened to me on my SPG personal card. Had a $403 stay charge at a Marriott post on 3 April and the points did not post to the account or on my statement. First rep told me 6-7 business days and opened a dispute; second rep told me there’s a “one month lag” between when the statement closes and when SPG points post (wrong); third rep opened another ticket but credited my SPG account with a “courtesy” 1000 points.

How hard is it to do what Chase does and put on the statement how many points each transaction earns, why does Amex have to hide it so hard? I spent 4800 and only received points for about 4713 of that.
I don’t have faith in Amex rewarding missing points…still waiting on the 10k points for $5k AU spending on my Plat from last fall. Opened the inquiry on 12/7/17, which was 12 weeks after the spend posted, still open…I opened 3 AU accounts and only rec’d 10k points.

Realized I had some errors here…it was 5k points for $500 on a new AU card. I opened 3 with SSNs and put legit spend on them. Received 1/3 bonuses.
Wow, is there any way to escalate your issue to upper management?
I had a similar problem with my Business Amex Hilton Card. From the APR 6 statement two transactions posted on APR 2 did not earned any points. One was for $456 and other for $250. All other transactions on the statement earned points. Contacted Amex and they opened a ticket.
I made several MS purchases between these dates. Points posted as normal.
