Many Citi Prestige cardholders who recently used the 4th-night-free benefit got a free $50 Amazon gift card as thanks for being a loyal Prestige cardmember.
I’ve heard this from some friends, and it’s being reported by multiple Reddit members.
It seems to be for those who used the 4th-night-benefit within the past month or so, not earlier. It also might only be for those who haven’t used it before.
Thank you for using your Citi® Prestige Concierge to book your recent hotel stay utilizing our “Fourth Night Free” benefit. We are glad that you were able to “stay a little bit longer”, thanks to this benefit available exclusively to Citi® Prestige cardmembers.

Some noted the timing of this Amazon gift card being sent out on Prime Day. If that’s the case, it might not happen in the future. In any case, it’s certainly sweet of Citi to do this.
It strikes me as quite odd that they send out a gift for using a benefit. That would be like Amex sending me a gift for maxing out my $50k on the OBC. 🙂 Would seem to make more sense to send out a gift after paying your annual fee, for example.
Anyway, it’s surprising they have time to create these kinds of gestures right now as they’re muddling through the Costco rollout. I haven’t been able to get hold of any CSR for the past week, and reports indicate that retention was officially down now with Citi (might be back up already). I guess this promotional department sending out these gifts is separate from those dealing with the Costco debacle.
