Our Verdict
Common transfer bonus, but one we haven’t seen for some time:
- May 20th – June 22nd, 2019: 30% transfer bonus
- September 1st – October 13th, 2018: 30% transfer bonus
- January 6th – March 2nd, 2017: 25% transfer bonus
- March 7th – April 6th, 2016: 25% transfer bonus
- June 9th – August 23rd, 2015: 25% transfer bonus
You can view a full list of Citi transfer bonuses here. As always I don’t recommend transferring unless you have a specific redemption in mind as you never know when a devaluation will hit.

Does Citi allow you to transfer to the authorized user’s VA account?
No , but you can transfer thank you points to other members and have that member redeem it
the link doesn’t work? also on typ transfer page I’m still seeing 1000 -> 1000.

I got lucky and found two economy tickets SEA to NRT with Delta through Virgin during the last Amex bonus. 55K RT is 38.5K MR, not bad for a $1,400 cash flight.
Sorry This is a bad redemption
not a bad redemption for Y…. RT cash fares are usually 500+. getting >1.3cpp for economy is not bad.
Isn’t this like a 3cpp redemption after the bonus? For economy it’s pretty good.
How much were the taxes and fees on a redemption like that?
Virgin Award flights with Delta charge no additional fees in my experience. Probably under $50 for Japan.
Idk how to tell the website authors or anything, but my Barclay view card, converted from the uber card, has a 5x extra point offer that I was emailed today.
There’s a Contact Us page with email addresses for Will and Chuck. (https://www.doctorofcredit.com/contact-us/).
They may or may not cover it, but tend to be really responsive to suggestions!
Does TYP have any advantage or transfer partner that MR doesn’t have?
Turkish. Cash.
cheapest way to get united flights. phone reps can put on hold for the time it takes to transfer
Choice Hotels at 1:2.
you have to have premier card with $95 annual fee to do that not the no fee thank you cards.
Choice Hotels at 2:1, can be a nice use if you use at Nordic Choice (12K points/6K TYP for an Ascend hotel in Longyearbyen, Svalbard) or know how to use for Preferred Hotels & Resorts.
EVA Air is a very useful transfer partner for increased J space on their own metal
I enjoy their Hello Kitty flights.
is anyone actually inding nice award availabilty besides ANA that has to be booked 12 months advance? Looking Delta or KLM/Air France first class. to europe
Good luck on Delta / Flying blue, haven’t seen a realistic points in a long time. Seeing a lot of million point one ways lol
I booked economy 5x AMS to SIN on KLM for 19.5k +120usd per person or so iirc
had to call because my account was on hold since i had just transferred the points and apparently they review after every transfer
joremero economy 5x meaning? I have never redeemed any points before – while booking on Delta, how do I do that? I have 32k points – can I use that for a trip to from US to Asia? Thanks!
Use the award calendar trick of not inputting a departure date on a one way reward flight, and you can find some sweet spots if your dates are flexible. I’m seeing periodic dates throughout the next year with direct flights between SFO-AMS and LAX-AMS for 65/67k pts biz class. Normally the prices start high (118k) when booking far out, but the prices lower as the demand on a particular flight come into clearer focus.
