Class Lawsuit: Get $6 Per Box Of Kotex Tampons Purchased (Up To $30)

U by Kotex Class Settlement

A $7 million class action settlement has been announced amidst allegations that U by Kotex tampons unravel and come apart. The following products are included:

  • U by Kotex® Sleek® Tampons
  • U by Kotex® Fitness® Tampons
  • U by Kotex® Click® Tampons
  • U by Kotex® Security® Tampons in Regular, Super, or Super-Plus Absorbency

Defendant denies any wrongdoing or unlawful conduct and asserts that the products at issue were safe to use and were manufactured consistent with the law.  The Court has not decided who is right.  Both sides have agreed to settle the dispute and give benefits to Class Members.

Who is Eligible?

If you bought one of the above-mentioned U by Kotex®-brand tampons between March 8, 2013 and November 19, 2019, you could receive a cash payment from a class action settlement.

How Much Can We Get?

The Settlement will provide up to $7,000,000 to pay claims for those who purchased one or more boxes of U by Kotex® tampon products.

  • Get up to $6 per box purchased, and up to $30 total, without Proof of Purchase.
  • Get full retail cost above $30 with Proof of Purchase.

You may be entitled to a $6.00 cash payment for each box of Subject Product you purchased during the Class Period, up to a maximum of $30.00 in cash if you do not have Proof of Purchase. Class Members who claim more than $30.00 in benefits must submit Proof of Purchase establishing purchase(s) during the Class Period for each box of Subject Product claimed in excess of $30.00 and may receive benefits based on the retail value of the Subject Products shown in the Proofs of Purchase.

If the total value of all approved claims is greater than the amount of money available to pay claims, eligible Class Members’ payments will be reduced proportionally. Thus, the amount of your payment will depend on the total amount of money you spent on the Subject Products during the Class Period, whether you have Proof of Purchase for the products you bought, and on the number of Class Members who choose to make a claim.

Important Dates

  • 3/8/13 through 11/19/19 – dates when your purchase makes you eligible
  • 7/20/20 – court date hearing
  • 8/18/2020 – final day to submit a claim

Our Verdict

Kotex is one of the popular tampon brands (according to Google; sorry, guy talking here), so I imagine many people will be eligible. Hopefully an easy $30 (or more with receipts); lots of men can be eligible too if you ever bought these for your partner. Of course, do not file if you didn’t actually buy these.

Are things like this typically one per household? I have 2 adult daughters that just graduated from college and are both living at home right now. We have all purchased many boxes of these, so feel ok about submitting for more than one of us. I looked through the FAQs and didn’t see anything about only one per household, but wasn’t sure.

I’m an idiot, how do I sign the claim form? Thanks for any suggestions.

If you did it online your name is automatically in the box. All you need to do is put the date in it’s box.

I wonder how much people will actually get once the $6 per package is reduced due to the number of claims submitted. Still worth, submitting.

Thanks. I’m sure I bought many boxes of these so I will file a claim.

Shout out to all the awesome men who are comfortable enough in their own skin to buy tampons for their ladies. It’s nice to see a man doing that and it’s even nicer to have a man that will do it.

If you have bought them then you know this crap gets expensive over a life time. I believe it’s ridiculous that we still have to pay sales tax on these sort of items, at least in my state. Things like food and medicine are not taxed because it is necessary and tampons and pads should be the same. I don’t want to think about how many thousands of dollars I have had to pay in taxes and tampons in my life.

Maybe you already know but, the CARES Act (Covid stimulus) allows for feminine hygiene products to now be purchased with FSA funds. This greatly helps to offset the charged sales tax as you are using tax-free money.

Funny, the trumpers literally went out protesting and whining all because they were asked to wear a mask to reduce the spread of a disease. Oh and let’s not forget their leader is a senile obese man who spends his days whining on twitter and getting a spray tan. MAGA boys!!
